Looking at that picture, I'd say he's basically 6ft 9 in his shoes, so probably around 6ft 8 barefoot.
In fact, the fellow with the measuring stick seems to have his thumb bang on the 6ft 9 mark for a reason?

There seems to be some question as to the number of boxing matches that he had had before coming to America in 1936(boxrec only lists his American debut).
Leon"The Polish Pyramid" Ketchell vs Charles Freeman "The American Giant"( 6 ft 11.5" tall),
who wins that one?
I would pick Charles Freeman because he was an American"American Giant" of course.

Tall boxers through history (and really most boxers) had their height exaggerated by management/promoters. For years Valuev was listed at 7'2 but he was really only around 6'10.

Valuev was measured on German TV prior to one of his bouts and he was 211 cm (6 '11").dempseyfire wrote:Tall boxers through history (and really most boxers) had their height exaggerated by management/promoters. For years Valuev was listed at 7'2 but he was really only around 6'10.
