02 April 25th - is the latest Hearn fcuk up...

Post by Manchester Hitman »

Well were under 2 months away from this 'mega card' and the Dirrell fight is still a million miles away...surprise, surprise.

As George Groves told us the other day Hearn promised sky a PPV card and for the second time in a recent months he's flopping again big time. George told him to take a running jump in regards facing Degale despite the fact he's in no mans land with his WBC shot, Froch dropped him in it by refusing Degale and now Dirrell despite hardly being a big US attraction himself has Al Haymon running rings around fast car.

So we'll probably be left with Degale facing a complete bum for the vacant title or James will have to go to the US to probably get done on points.

This whole latest match room fiasco is also bound to be indirectly affecting sky's bid for the Mayweather fight....Hearn will need PPV to pay Dirrell/Haymon to come over and the longer this negotiations
drags the more uncertainty it will bring Interms of forward planning. Mayweather fight is the following week which they would have to put on PPV - obviously they can't do both and the 02 card can't be moved back to May 2 to be a double header as somebody else has booked the venue...

I bet Hearn is really trying the patience of Adam Smith and the other sky bosses...as George said and I've said several times let Barry Hearn get things done..Jnr just cannot cut it.

Same!! He's right up Edwin's ass. That Pacman interview Jonny and Adam did was putrid.

I said months ago, that Froch avoiding DeGale would be the best thing that could happen to DeGale because he'll get a bum opponent for the vacant title.

At least if that happens, he'll get a bit more leverage to attract bigger opponents, or can chose to go down the soft defence by pretending he's doing something good avenue.

True but Eddie is supposed to deliver a PPV worthy card - he can't do that without a name in the other corner- after the negative fallout of the last PPV I would be stunned if sky go down that road again this time. If the card gets downgraded to normal sky then Hearn could dig up charles Brewer as the opponent for all I care

Hearn doesn't care what people think about the PPV, as long as they buy it.

How many people on this forum crabbed about Bellew vs Clev being a PPV, but then purchased it anyway? As long as Eddie gets paid, he aint caring what we think about it on a forum.

Wouldn't surprise me at all if Hearn set DeGale up with some dipstick, and then promoted it like it was on slightly inferior to Floyd vs Pac.

That doesn't bother me, it's the way that he patronises his guests and viewers that has had me close to launching the telly through the window on more than one occasion. He's just a slimy fawning sycophant.

Think DeGale v Dirrell has now went to purse bids so if Hearn does manage to outbid Haymon then no doubt he'll be looking to put the card on PPV to recoup the money! This would be another slap in the face (if it happens). Dirrell stank the place out against Froch and while he is no doubt a talent his style isn't exactly fan friendly.

I have to admit to being one of the morons who actually bought Clev v Bellew! I woke up Sunday morning with that feeling you get after a night out on the piss, where you've done something right daft and can't explain or comprehend it. I felt violated to put it mildly  lol

Eddie should be taken to court for an assault on folks wallet for that debacle! I'm that daft I would probably pay it again so I've no idea why I'm moaning :witzend:

Agreed man. I just hate missing fights. With this one I tried not to buy it but didn't have the will power lol. Anytime I've tried to stream a fight it just frustrates me.

He's said a few times that the Bellew Clev PPV returned great numbers for Sky. Yes, he is full of hype but there is probably some truth in his statements.

The Direll fight will get done, and with "AJ" and Selby on the card its almost certainly a PPV which, could be tricky as no option to move it to 02 on the 2nd (already booked as is CIA in Cardiff). So he, either goes for something like the Excel or the Wembley Arena and moves the show or Sky will struggle with the Mayweather fight.

Hearn surely had the inside scoop on the Mayweather fight as he's been meeting and dealing with Haymon lots recently so I;m surprised he didn't push for his card to be on the 2nd. I don't know whay Sky sports have scheduled that weekend in other sports.

BT sport for the mayweather fight, almost certainly!

..... and will get it.
It's not about how much for Sky its about kudos.
They paid way over the odds for football in the recent auctions and they may choose to make an offer for this fight that cannot be refused.
I predict £49.99 ppv.

They need football for subscriptions, I can't see them being willing to make a loss on it, they already need to cut costs or raise subscription fees to pay for the football. I can't see them being stupid enough to make it £50 PPV, no one will pay that.

Though I don't believe the PPV would be £50, I do believe people would pay it.

If you believe people on this website, nobody paid for Bellew vs Clev either.

Do you think its people on here who made up the PPV numbers for Clev - Bellew? I would guess less then 100 people said they weren't going to watch it, then on fight night most of them were on here "fishing". Now go on Twitter and look how may followers Hearn has, they are the PPV audience not the few on here...

I had that same feeling. However it turned out I had been sleepwalking in the night and lashed all over my wife whilst she was sleeping. So I had a genuine reason for the guilts.

Poor lass had to change the sheets mid night. I blamed it on Bellew and told her that he'd said his fists feed the kids.
