Has there ever been a bigger disappointment than Solis at Heavy in the last decade?

Gotta love Thompson, he just keeps rolling on. He doesn't have the most exciting style, but give him a chance and he'll take it.
Solis's promoter Ahmet Oner wasn't exactly impressed with his charge, he said afterwards
"He has all the talent in the world but he just blew it. I cannot believe how bad he looked today. He is a shame for Cuban boxing. The guy is done. And I’m done with him. He’s still under contract with me but today he made the step from contender to journeyman. I will throw him to the wolves and feed every young and hungry prospect with him who is ready to pay some money.”

Harsh but hey Oner must of invested a lot of money in the Cuban.

Solis came in about a stone heavier than last time against Thompson. He was out of shape then.

Not watched all the fight yet and probably won't, just caught the highlights or should I say lowlights! Solis looked terrible, like he hadn't even bothered training.

Thompson rolls on, Solis rolls off... :box:

That Oner is a serious gobshite. I remember when he rung the bell early when Danny Williams was pasting Airich in Spain.

But, it's hard to argue with what he's said here. He's probably paid this guy a wage and rent for the last 9 years, hoping he would finally reign.

Hard to believe he was a full stone heavier than his pro debut. When he turned pro he was nearly 260 pound and straight away people said he needed to lose 20+ pounds to be in best shape, and instead he's gone the other way.

He managed to get down to about 240 odd a few years ago, and still looked fleshy as he's only 6'1 - and last night was 271 pound (?)

If his promoter has any sense, he should turn him into a journeyman and just pay him in fried chicken from now. Because Solis is definitely a "hungry" fighter.

Quite risky although it would be fun to see Eddie become Edwina

If Hearn is serious about Joshua, the next fight after Johnson could well be Tony Thompson.

However, he has openly said that he wants to make Joshua v Price. A ridiculous fight that makes no sense for both fighters.

Agree. Price is not a good option for Joshua at this stage. Far too much to lose and absolutely nothing to gain.

One punch could end the Joshua hype just as it did Price. He would be better off getting sparked by Wlad than Price. At least he could say he fought the best
