Eubank fight postponed?
Eubank fight postponed?
Just seen an alarming interview with Fwank. The Eubank v Chudinov fight is in jeopardy of not going ahead because of the bbcoc stance on officials! Less than two hours these guys are due in the ring!

What is the problem here with the stance on officials?

Why wasn't this sorted a week ago. So amateurish it's almost unbelievable.

Something to do with the ref and two judges being British so the Russians are saying unless it gets changed then they are pulling Chudinov out. Apparently Fwank and the Eubanks have agreed to the officials being changed over but the BBBoC aren't for budging! Shocking man!ThereByTheGrace wrote:What is the problem here with the stance on officials?

What possible problem could the board have?Stuarty30 wrote:Something to do with the ref and two judges being British so the Russians are saying unless it gets changed then they are pulling Chudinov out. They should at least be willing to negotiate, why do 2 judges need to be used for an international fight? I can understand if they wanted the action in the ring to be overseen by one of there own but to me this feels more like protecting jobs for there boys.
I feel for Fwankstain, Eubank and the Russians here.

The BBBofC are an embarrassment.
Re: Eubank fight postponed?
Not sure but Fwank was fuming by the looks of it. Says he can't see what their problem is etc.... They're due in the ring at 9pm! Feel sorry for all involved here. Not ideal preparation when you're trying to get your brain in to fight mode!ILikeBeer wrote:What possible problem could the board have?Stuarty30 wrote:Something to do with the ref and two judges being British so the Russians are saying unless it gets changed then they are pulling Chudinov out. Chudinov may wish it was a Terry O in the middle this morning, perhaps his head would be a little less worse for wear.

Yeah that made for some uncomfortable viewing!95gerog wrote:Chudinov may wish it was a Terry O in the middle this morning, perhaps his head would be a little less worse for wear.

Agree, Eubank was just teeing off at one point! You could hear some experienced people yelling at the ref to stop the fight.
Great entertainment from Eubank, but definately a couple of uncomfortable moments.

that was shocking. I've just seen it thanks to Boxcountry. Love that channel.
Michael Hook, the Swedish referee - was a liability imo. He let Chudinov smack Eubank atop the back of his bonce several times and said nothing, even tho the Russian wasn't applying any great force, he just wanted Eubank to clear off a bit. But the 12th round was an embarrassment from this overweight official. Chudinov spoke classily before the fight and really showed bravery - wow - talk about fighting like an unbeaten fighter, what a credit to himself. But that referee let him down BADLY.
Re: Eubank fight postponed?
To what extent does the BBBoC have authority on a show? There was a fight there between Walsh and Joe Murray (same card) which I think may have been for Walsh's titles - so a British Board sanctioned fight, but Eubank vs. Chudinov was a WBA sanctioned affair where both sides went ahead on the grounds of a neutral (sic) presumably scoring ref, and two neutral judges. So what was the Board's objection - if they did have an objection? Or was the whole thing a misunderstanding? There must be AMPLE precedent for fights sanctioned by different bodies taking place on British soil.
That situation was an embarrassment, a bit of an insult to the fans and viewers, an insult to both fighters and their teams and a bit of a disgrace imho. SORT IT OUT!
