A quick observation, Paul Smith loses and goes up but Josh Warrington wins and drops places, how did you work that out?

Smith lost to someone good, Warrington beat a nobody.Champfan10 wrote:A quick observation, Paul Smith loses and goes up but Josh Warrington wins and drops places, how did you work that out?

I've only just gotten over the excitement of last months list.
Re: British Top 30 P4P March 2015
I still reckon Frampton is best p4p. He doesn't have the names on his record like Froch but on ability he is out in front.

It's about balancing achievement with proven ability, at least it should be although I do sometimes wonder when I look at Horse's P4P world list. I think if Frampton beats Santa Cruz it'd be hard to argue against him being British P4P number one.

Is Frampton beating LSC more worthy than Froch's win against Bute?Ian1973 wrote:Stuarty30 wrote:I still reckon Frampton is best p4p. He doesn't have the names on his record like Froch but on ability he is out in front.

Re: British Top 30 P4P March 2015
I agree yeah. The big names will come for Frampton. I could even see him stepping up to feather if he can clean up at super bantam. I'd love to see the Santa Cruz fight but I'm not sure if his handlers fancy it.Ian1973 wrote:Stuarty30 wrote:I still reckon Frampton is best p4p. If Smith lost to Ward then fair enough but AA is the weakest SMW champion and hasn't beat a world class SMW, when has Smith even beat a European class fighter?Horse wrote:Smith lost to someone good, Warrington beat a nobody.Champfan10 wrote:A quick observation, Paul Smith loses and goes up but Josh Warrington wins and drops places, how did you work that out?
Re: British Top 30 P4P March 2015
So Kell Brook, who went to the states and defeated Shawn Porter and took his title off him is now ranked behind Frampton, who won his from ... Kiko Martinez?
Err ok.

Porter was more proven than Martinez?G0mez wrote:So Kell Brook, who went to the states and defeated Shawn Porter and took his title off him is now ranked behind Frampton, who won his from ... Kiko Martinez?

Travelling despite what people say does not enhance the achievement.
Frampton has 3 top 10 victories in his weight class, Kell has 1 at this moment in time.

Martinez whom was beaten by Rendall Munroe in a Notts leisure centre ? and already KO'd by Frampton previously?Yes We Can wrote:Porter was more proven than Martinez?G0mez wrote:So Kell Brook, who went to the states and defeated Shawn Porter and took his title off him is now ranked behind Frampton, who won his from ... Porter had sparked Malignaggi a 2-weight champion and bullied former champion Devon Alexander. Martinez has not done much at all and was a paper champion, who was fortunate to get the title due to Frampton's change in promoters taking him out the loop for a short while.

No second date then, Horse?
Re: British Top 30 P4P March 2015
He needs the names. Froch is the clear No. 1 right now.Stuarty30 wrote:I still reckon Frampton is best p4p. He doesn't have the names on his record like Froch but on ability he is out in front.
Re: British Top 30 P4P March 2015
I don't think beating Santa Cruz would make Frampton the clear No. 1.Ian1973 wrote:It's about balancing achievement with proven ability, at least it should be although I do sometimes wonder when I look at Horse's P4P world list. Abraham beat Stieglitz who is a world class super middleweight.digzee wrote:If Smith lost to Ward then fair enough but AA is the weakest SMW champion and hasn't beat a world class SMW, when has Smith even beat a European class fighter?
Smith hasn't beaten a European class fighter, but neither has Warrington.

Agreed, that would be completely ridiculous. Santa Cruz is miles below some of the guys Froch has on his resume.Horse wrote:I don't think beating Santa Cruz would make Frampton the clear No. 1.Ian1973 wrote:It's about balancing achievement with proven ability, at least it should be although I do sometimes wonder when I look at Horse's P4P world list. Porter was a good win, but Porter is not that much better than Martinez. Frampton has the better overall recent record.G0mez wrote:So Kell Brook, who went to the states and defeated Shawn Porter and took his title off him is now ranked behind Frampton, who won his from ... Kiko Martinez?

Porter who drew Julio Diaz just over two years ago?G0mez wrote:Martinez whom was beaten by Rendall Munroe in a Notts leisure centre ? and already KO'd by Frampton previously?

Martinez stopped Romero, Mathebula and Hasegawa in world title fights in a 9 month run. If Martinez was a paper champion then so was Porter.

The second date was a lot shorter.palooka wrote:No second date then, Horse?
Re: British Top 30 P4P March 2015
Froch will most likely have been inactive for over a year before his next fight, so that will give Frampton a good chance of taking the No. 1 spot if he beats someone like Santa Cruz. It's not clear though.Boxerbeetle wrote:Agreed, that would be completely ridiculous. Santa Cruz is miles below some of the guys Froch has on his resume.

Re: British Top 30 P4P March 2015
I expected that reply but the fact is a loss surely can't make anyone raise in the rankings, the only way that I would see that happen is it we was talking about Paul Smiths first fight against AA.Horse wrote:Smith lost to someone good, Warrington beat a nobody.Champfan10 wrote:A quick observation, Paul Smith loses and goes up but Josh Warrington wins and drops places, how did you work that out?
Re: British Top 30 P4P March 2015
I think Smith was well-beaten by AA this time; in my view it's fitting to move a boxer up following a loss in certain cases, but I don't see why Smith should move up now.
