Martinez stopped Romero, Mathebula and Hasegawa in world title fights in a 9 month run. If Martinez was a paper champion then so was Porter.

But he already beat Martinez....surely going to the U.S and beating someone who nearly everyone thought was going to lose to is a far greater win than beating someone who you stopped before

It's about balancing achievement with proven ability, at least it should be although I do sometimes wonder when I look at Horse's P4P world list. I think if Frampton beats Santa Cruz it'd be hard to argue against him being British P4P number one.

Very hard to balance the 2. It's a lot easier to do 2 separate lists. In a list of achievements Froch would be number 1 by far. A list of pure ability, Frampton, Brook & Khan would be above him.
