But he already beat Martinez....surely going to the U.S and beating someone who nearly everyone thought was going to lose to is a far greater win than beating someone who you stopped beforeHorse wrote:Porter who drew Julio Diaz just over two years ago?G0mez wrote:Martinez whom was beaten by Rendall Munroe in a Notts leisure centre ? and already KO'd by Frampton previously?
Porter had sparked Malignaggi a 2-weight champion and bullied former champion Devon Alexander. Martinez has not done much at all and was a paper champion, who was fortunate to get the title due to Frampton's change in promoters taking him out the loop for a short while.
Martinez stopped Romero, Mathebula and Hasegawa in world title fights in a 9 month run. If Martinez was a paper champion then so was Porter.

Macklin should be out rather than either Smith or Galahad.....Still dont understand why James Mc is not in top 10 but Groves is
Re: British Top 30 P4P March 2015
Very hard to balance the 2. It's a lot easier to do 2 separate lists. In a list of achievements Froch would be number 1 by far. A list of pure ability, Frampton, Brook & Khan would be above him.Ian1973 wrote:Stuarty30 wrote:I still reckon Frampton is best p4p. He doesn't have the names on his record like Froch but on ability he is out in front.
It's about balancing achievement with proven ability, at least it should be although I do sometimes wonder when I look at Horse's P4P world list. I think if Frampton beats Santa Cruz it'd be hard to argue against him being British P4P number one.

Whaaaat? Don't agree with that at all. Unless you're talking purely on a technical level, which counts for very little on its own.danamba7 wrote:Very hard to balance the 2. I was thinking mostly on a technical level so underrating the Cobra overall probably which is rare for me to do!Boxerbeetle wrote: Whaaaat? Don't agree with that at all. Unless you're talking purely on a technical level, which counts for very little on its own.

Not clear no 1, just shading no1 if he beats SCHorse wrote:I don't think beating Santa Cruz would make Frampton the clear No. 1.Ian1973 wrote:It's about balancing achievement with proven ability, at least it should be although I do sometimes wonder when I look at Horse's P4P world list. Froch has been inactive (nearly a year)

Beating Leo Santa Cruz puts Frampton no1 in the UK ?

I disagree.Champfan10 wrote:I expected that reply but the fact is a loss surely can't make anyone raise in the rankings, the only way that I would see that happen is it we was talking about Paul Smiths first fight against AA.
Re: British Top 30 P4P March 2015
I don't think Abraham won convincingly the second time either.crusader wrote:I think Smith was well-beaten by AA this time; in my view it's fitting to move a boxer up following a loss in certain cases, but I don't see why Smith should move up now.
Even though Abraham's workrate was better in the rematch, it was still poor.

Not necessarily.Switch hitter wrote:But he already beat Martinez....surely going to the U.S and beating someone who nearly everyone thought was going to lose to is a far greater win than beating someone who you stopped before
Re: British Top 30 P4P March 2015
Abraham won convincingly, even Smith and his camp said as much.
Re: British Top 30 P4P March 2015
Groves fights better opposition. McDonnell is a paper champion who fights low level opponents.Switch hitter wrote:Macklin should be out rather than either Smith or Galahad.....Still dont understand why James Mc is not in top 10 but Groves is

It will all depend on how and when it happens.rossij8 wrote:Not clear no 1, just shading no1 if he beats SC

Froch might have beaten Ward before then.

I don't care what Smith or his camp say.palooka wrote:Abraham won convincingly, even Smith and his camp said as much.

Do you care or consider what anyone says?

What if a journeyman beats an average fighter? Does he go above Frampton because no one expected him to win?Horse wrote:Sure it is.Switch hitter wrote:Of course it is that's the most ridiculous thing ive heard
