Fury vs Haye Summer 2015

Post by Maxsplit »

I can't see this fight happening, or Haye ever fighting again.

But if Wilder & Wlad went different routes this year, and this fight was made 2 years on and Haye having only fought once in 4 years vs a guy Fury has bested twice .... How would you see it going?

Fury would destroy him even more easily than he would have done 18 months or so ago.

Haye should fight McDermott for the English title if he ever comes back, he doesn't deserve a fight with Fury.

If Klitschko had retired and Fury was the champion, I'd pick a highly motivated Haye to do 'im. Otherwise, I'd say that Haye loses by his own indifference.

Haye's waiting for Klitschko to pack up, and Wlad knows it. If he can, Klitschko wants to hold onto his belts against lesser opposition until Haye's done for good. If he doesn't, he grants Haye a reasonable chance of beating the winner of the championship fight, once again giving him the platform to rubbish the big lad. WK doesn't want his rep tarnished by Haye inheriting his belts as soon as he's left the building. Neither man seems keen on a rematch.

I will try and be kind.
But what on God's green earth has Haye done since losing to Wlad to deserve a rematch???
One win in 4 years against a gate keeper in Chisora?
Or maybe it was the cancelling of the Fury fight on numerous occasions ?
Or maybe it was for sympathy for Haye because of his Hurt big toe?

Haye is not a contender. He is 34 years old.He is finished
Get over it.

The longer Haye spends out of the ring the less confident I become that he'd win, but if he were remotely near the form of his last bout I'd expect him to beat Fury.

I didn't think he looked too good in the Chisora fight. He was definitely blowing and Tyson is a much bigger man. The extra three years out won't have helped either. It's all irrelevant anyway, I can't see the Fury's wanting to do business with him and Haye doesn't even have a trainer at the moment.

Hay looked a little out of shape on Saturday night (doing the commentary work). He is a long way off fighting shape. I don't think he will box again.

If Haye was fit and motivated than I would back him for the KO. Very elusive and would be catching Tyson from all angles. I think his inactivity would really hamper him though if they fought now. I couldn't see Fury agreeing to fight Haye again regardless as he's had his fingers burnt twice now. Tyson is in a good position and has to kick on. Fighting Haye (if he turns up) would be good for the bank balance but a backwards step career wise. Maybe if Fury wins a strap and Haye gets a couple of decent wins under his belt but can't see the fight happening any time soon.

Haye would beat him. But that fight won't happen. Why would Fury risk his mando spot now that he's come this far?

They won't fight unless one of them has a belt, haye said not long ago that fury thinks he sells all the tickets so want everything in his favour and he's not interested in working with his team unless he has a belt to offer.

Haye isn't getting back in the ring and with the amount of time he's had out of the ring even if he does he would need a warm up fight first.

Haye may either be the most over-rated, or most under-rated man in all of boxing. Depends on what side of the coin you are on. Against average or limited heavyweights, he looked phenomenal. But he also had his moments of looking vulnerable. Against Klitschko, he showed his limitations against a man who was bigger, stronger, and skilled. I still have flash backs of when he fought Valuev--- and I think in all reality, outside of that last round, he didn't do anything to warrant a win. That fight, at best, should of been called a draw. And I think it's fair to say that Fury is more better of a fighter than Valuev was.

Someone may of said it best earlier in this thread... "It depends on how motivated Haye is", and that seems to be the determining factor overall. Haye persists he only wants Klitschko. And maybe that would be the only fight that could motivate him enough to give a 100% effort. Or maybe, like many suspect, he is talking out of his ass and wants that Klitschko pay day. After all, Klitschko can fight a taxi cab driver in Germany or Switzerland and he'll sell out a soccer stadium and make $10,000,000 and his opponent will make over a $1,000,000 just to show up.

I used to be a HUGE David Haye fan and was one of the very few who said that he would go the full twelve rounds against Klitschko--- because he does have the speed and the ability to get away from punches. But, what he proved against Klitschko was--- the higher the skill set, the more Haye runs. He can beat the John Ruiz's and the Monte Barrett's and the Dereck Chisora's of the world (men of his own size and under his skill set) but when you got a man well over 6'5" and 240 pounds with good ring generalship, good jab, good power, good conditioning, etc. then Haye looks more and more like a hype job.

Sure people will say "Well when he was training for Fury, he made Wilder look like crap. He hit him with overhands all night long. He made Dmintreko look like a bitch," and blah blah blah blah blah... but thats SPARRING. No one is out to score knockouts. No one is out to hurt one another. It's TRAINING. It doesn't mean much. Hell, Greg Page dropped Tyson in Tokyo... but could Page of ever beaten Tyson in a real fight? No.

Look, at the end of the day... if this fight were to happen... we're talking about a man who has not FOUGHT a real FIGHT in what? Two, or three years? We're talking about a man who has had shoulder surgery. We're talking about a man who seems more interested in generating revenue and making fast cash, than getting back into the gym and putting in hard work and long hours... to fight a man who has substantially gotten better over time, whose the #1 rated contender by the WBO, who is 50 pounds heavier, half a foot taller, etc. and is more than determined to get to the top.

I ain't saying Haye would be a sitting duck, he would be a dangerous man--- always will be to one extent or another--- but let's be realistic. He's older, slower, and has more rust on him than the Titantic at the bottom of the Atlantic ocean. The ONLY chance he would have at winning against a younger, stronger, bigger, well adjusted, young man with a 'live or die' attitude in the ring would be if he went for broke and threw everything he had in the first three rounds and pray to Jesus he landed something substantial.

Not a Haye fan but I think he catches Tyson flush and puts him down repeatedly till the ref steps in.

That is unless his arm's fallen off.

In other words, it feels to me like Haye's hoping for an easier shot when Wlad retires. Because whoever wins the belts after him is an easier draw. Should that happen, and if, by some miracle, the new champ would offer Haye a fight, and if Haye were to win that fight... well, then he could say that he would've beaten the now-comfortably-retired Wlad in a rematch. Agree or no, ya with me?

If Wlad knew for sure that Haye's career is definitely over, he could retire in peace.
tiny_acres wrote:But what on God's green earth has Haye done since losing to Wlad to deserve a rematch???
Nowt. But if a rematch was on the table, it's my belief that neither man would care for it. What I want doesn't come into it. Do I want to see a rematch? Not really. But there is still a slight feeling of unfinished business between Haye and the Ks. Mainly because Haye underperformed, and I'm curious to know if his fear of humiliation would fire him up should they ever meet again.

I think Haye is finished. At his best he knocks Fury out. Tyson is made to measure for Haye. Tall, stand up fighter who is easy to hit with a questionable chin and fairly average power...timmmmbeeeerrr

Move on. Let's see Fury in with a genuine challenge. Let's ignore Haye/ leave him to his retirement

What is Hayemaker even upto these days? You'd think he's retired. Fury has a great chance at beating Haye IMO. Haye is inactive and what semi-retired? Fury is a game fighter, and will put the pressure on Haye.

Haye has lost his hunger. He only wants Wlad.

Do you think Tyson is as durable as Chisora?

I'm sure they'd do business again, regardless of the time spent out of the ring it's a fight that could be promoted easily, and a new trainer would be easy to find, or perhaps an old one.

True, if Fury can take him rounds and lean on him in clinches Haye will gas and be there to be stopped.
