Haye fights both sold out, 20,000 at the Chisora fight. If it's the right fight, he'll sell big, doesn't sell loads of tickets in the way that someone like Frank Buglioni does, but when it comes to a big fight, Fury will sell better than most in the country. We're talking World Heavyweight championship here, put it on here and it will sell, Haye-Harrison did 20,000 and it was a joke fight.

Undercard is the key in this country, and with people like Buglioni, KEan and Eubank just for starters you'd have no problem doing 20k over here.

The problem is they could do 45-60k in Germany.

We'd do 45-60 in this country. Everyone knows Klitschko.

Fury Chisora 2 and CEJ vs BJS did 18,000 and could easily have sold more.

If they has Wlad vs Fury and CEJ vs BJS2 on undercard & all the usual suspects they could do 45k no problem IMO.

But they couldn't sell that for Haye, a bigger fight?

Fury would EAT and SHIT OUT the likes of Fraudley Harrison... To even make such a comparison is complete and utter tripe.

18,000 sold, not including all the seats sold twice and everyone that walked in without tickets, wonder how many were actually in the arena.

By show I take it you mean a bit of a live band when VK steps to the ring and perhaps some hologram type business? Because you can't be referring to any Klit undercard in Germany, as they are generally terrible.

Say one thing for FW, it would be "stacked" card time.
It'd be much more enjoyable live. I'd fork out to travel to see the show in Germany. I wouldn't if it was in London. Not after Fury/Chisora.

Yeah but its not the 60k Wlad usually pulls in. I think it was the BJS v Eubank fight that sold the majority of the tickets that night. They could maybe get a double world title fight on the go and that could possibly do a stadium.

ie Wlad v Fury and Saunders v Lee or Quillin.
Its hard to tell im not sure how many tickets wlad could draw over here, but like you said it is the World heavy weight title it could go the other way round and just be huge.

I think fury's last couple of performances although technically very good they wont have won over the casual fans, who would have found them boring.

Why would Wlad do that anyway?

He's the main man. He's just about to crack the yank market ( again? )

I suspect fighting in England is way down his list. To Wlad, Fury is just another challenger to beat, like plenty before.

Fury is to easy of a target for Wlad. One big shot from someone that punches as hard as Wlad. It's lights out for Fury.

Fury isn't ready yet. He needs to work on his defense before getting in the ring with a seasoned, hard hitting monster. Wlad is a different machine to anyone Fury has fought. I'd actually like to see Fury take on Chris Arreola.

I agree but Fury himself and his 2 promoters all seem very confident that they can get the fight over here, hence this thread. I know promoters can be deluded but with Germany being the more obvious choice, they must have heard something encouraging from Wlad's team to make these comments.

The Haye fight was far from a sell out. This does better numbers here.
Haye Klitschko was sold out, 60 000 in Hamburg.

No, it wasn't, nowhere near. I was there. Tickets widely available online and loads of empty seats in the stadium.

I was there too. There were only a few seats free, and I put that down to the fact I had to just about swim to the stadium. But sold tickets are sold tickets, whether people turn up or not.

The hotels were definitely "ausgebucht", I had to sleep in a car.

Well I had a very different experience to you then. I saw a lot of seats empty and had no problem getting a hotel!

So what if the Haye fight didn't do 60k (even though evidence other than Mick's anecdotes suggests it did)?

Wlad's a massive draw in Germany and at least 10.5 million there viewed his last fight, while he regularly draws huge crowds despite the undercards of his fights being dross (notice that Fury was very well-supported for the 18k against Chisora). Perhaps a Fury bout would do better figures in England, but that would likely take an enormous turnout.

Wouldn't this fight sell well in Manchester? They could pull it off at the Etihad with a good undercard. Or just do it at the Manchester Arena.
