Does Maidana hit harder than Pacquiao?

He is a heavy hitter maidana, but is not a sharp puncher and has struggled at times to land against top opposition. Possibly he can hit harder than pac but pac can actually land much better blows consistently because of his superior speed and skill.

Maidana hits harder but means nothing in comparison to Pacquiao because Pacquiao is surely more accurate and effective.

Tend to go along with this line of thought. Also I feel like Manny is quicker & less predictable making him all the more effective with his power when he lands. But if we just got Manny vs Marcos in a heavy bag hitting contest I'd take Marcos.

Similar to hits harder, Tyson or Shavers. Shavers for sure, but put them both against the best and I have more faith in Tyson to be more effective.

Maidana for sure, not that it makes much difference in analysing the outcome of pacquiao vs mayweather. Boxers allways say the ones that hurt them the most are the ones they dont see coming, thats where pacquiao blows maidana out the way.

I agree with this, Manny throws faster punches and is more accurate as well.

It doesn't matter one iota who hits harder. Its not like either has a chance of KO'ing Floyd. Mosley hit harder than any of Floyd'd opponents imo, and he couldn't get it done. Canelo hits hard too. Floyd, even in trouble, is too smart and knows how to tie up enough to recover to bring it back.

Mosley, over a decade after his best Mosley, had him doing the Harlem shuffle.. I would thank my lucky stars that fight happened when it did. Did you really think "it don't matter" was the best answer, not trying to troll I agree with most of that but anybody could get caught it's boxing ya never know especially with the talent level of these two guys.

I think on a punch Meyer that Marcos would hit with harder force than Manny. I imagine this would be neutralised as Manny throws 2's and 3's from unusual angles that are both fast and powerful. I imagine Manny could land more pounds of force within a 2 second span.

Maidana may be stronger but no way in hell he hits harder with those slow as a snail telegraphed punches. A huge variable in punching power is speed-I'd take 3 min with Maidana over 3 min of Manny any day of the week.

Mosley didn't want the fight when Floyd was at 140, and basically said so on video. I don't think it would have ended up any differently back then. You are right, anyone can get caught and KO'd, but since Floyd has been in with big punchers before, rocked and recovered, I don't see punching power being a factor in this fight.

I think mayweather was lucky in the 2 nd fight against maidana that the clean shot in the 2nd I think it was landed with 1/2 a second to go, if there had of been a minute left that could have been a different story, but that's how boxing goes

Maidana is the more heavy handed puncher as there seems to be a strong thud when he lands on the target. Pacquiao is more quicker and accurate shots.

Very true. He definitley hurt Floyd with that shot.

I agree there is more force behind his punches. Like Mosley said though, Pac's power is hard to explain. His punches have a lot of snap to them, and they can hurt you. Strength + speed = power. I think for the same reason (speed), that Floyd and even Khan hit harder than given credit for.

Pacquaios danger comes from not being able to see where his punch comes from, the ones that hurt are the ones you don't see coming, he doesn't hit you from in front, he hits you from the side and because he's so fast in movement his opponents turn their head straight into the punch, floyd has never faced an opponent as dangerous as pacquaio

Pacquiao has never faced a guy as skilled as Floyd either. What works against guys that pac has recently fought like Rios and Algieri won't work against Floyd.

Will Floyd get hit? Yes. Will Manny hit Floyd as easy as all of his past opponents? No. If it was a foregone conclusion who would win, they wouldn't have to fight. Imo, Pac will be easier for him than Maidana was....somewhere in between Maidana I and II. (Unless Floyd stops Pac)
