I would say he wants to so the more important question is, does a promoter think Harrison is worth his purse?

I'd rather get stuck in a lift with Russell Brand than see this crackpot box again!

I believe he will win

yup that's about the size of it he wants to box but still expects a big pay day whicjh he is struggling to get. Would make a good opponent for Hughie Fury.freddydoesdallas wrote:I would say he wants to so the more important question is, does a promoter think Harrison is worth his purse?

Re: Will Audley Harrison ever make that comeback?
If he is willing to fight on smaller shows/get paid less than he was used to I think he could, to some extent, rebuild his career. Ok he won't win any titles, but he has the skills to beat domestic fighters and get on the telly doing so.
I suppose it all depends on how much he wants to get back in the ring and whether he needs the cash.

I don't think so and tbh I wouldn't be that interested anyway. I don't mean that in a nasty way, it's just that he wouldn't really be a big player in the HW stakes.
Re: Will Audley Harrison ever make that comeback?
He's shown that domestically he's a decent boxer, just look at him in those Prizefighter bouts although obviously the British Heavyweight scene has changed some what over last couple of years. Now even the top tier of domestic boxing might be a stretch for him, so what would he be coming back for?baron_otto wrote:If he is willing to fight on smaller shows/get paid less than he was used to I think he could, to some extent, rebuild his career. I'm sure he's still got some name value (even after the Haye "fight"), plus the gold medal. I'm amazed that Fast Eddie hasn't him KOing a couple of jobsworths on undercards to build up to him facing AJ in a battle of the Olympians.

I think a one off Kellie Maloney promoted show featuring Audley would generate some big attention!
Maybe he could Ko Freddie Flintoff? :-)

Plenty of fights out there I'd like to see him in, as said Hughie Fury, I think Audley beats him at this stage of Hughies career, Eddie Chambers, Richard Towers, Sprott 3 the decider, Ian Lewison, I could go on.

Re: Will Audley Harrison ever make that comeback?
If he does, he has two realistic options:-
1) Be a glorified journeyman & a 'name' for upcoming talented HWs to feast on.
2) Be a perennial entrant into every single HW Prizefighter tournament in the future, because he excels in that area: glorified amateur boxing.
Outside of these two options, I can't see any promoter with any sense taking a chance on a terrified waster like Harrison.
He's stunk the arena/hall out far too many times, plus he must be 68 years old now, anyway!

i have lost all respect for the ebu for sanctioning that sprott fight.
the champion pulls out and they took the money.
absolute joke of a decision from the ebu.
former european champion my arse. :>
Re: Will Audley Harrison ever make that comeback?
Big audley Harrison fan but I think the chances of him getting back in the ring are slim. Both himself and haye have worked out they can be celebrities referred to as "boxers".
