...that woman they keep focusing on, Luke's missus? Good looking woman that's for sure!
Re: Hull bill discussion thread 7th March 2015
Fair play to Morales. He tried. It wasn't his fault he was in over his head. Brave man.
Re: Hull bill discussion thread 7th March 2015
It's been shocking, 8 rounder between a novice and Ochieng, Fielding mismatch, Eggington-Singleton was decent, Saunders mismatch, Campbell mismatch and now we have Coyle-Gethin, which is about English title level and Gethin is past it at this stage, Coyle isn't great but he should deal with him comfortably. There's small hall shows out there of similar and better standards.rossij8 wrote:Its been better than the big hyped up cards they normally put onblanca wrote:Apart from the eggington fight, this bill has been horseshit, good job i dont pay for sky anymore...
Re: Hull bill discussion thread 7th March 2015
Next Frankie Gavin, brilliant amateur, southpaw, turns pro, stops overmatched opponents, but looks feather fisted, pulls out of fights because of personal problems. He'll do alright, but I'm not seeing a world champion in there.Boxing Prospect wrote:I want to like Luke Campbell, honestly I do...but...I just can't do it.

Re: Hull bill discussion thread 7th March 2015
It's the worst Matchroom show I can think of for a while. Altho Knight v Ocheing was better than I expected. They shouldn't have bothered televising Fielding's fight, hardly like they have the excuse that he's an Olympic medallist that casuals might be interested in. I think the same of the Saunders fight, but like I say, probably pressure from Sky to show all his fights regardless as he is hyped.expe wrote:It's been shocking, 8 rounder between a novice and Ochieng, Fielding mismatch, Eggington-Singleton was decent, Saunders mismatch, Campbell mismatch and now we have Coyle-Gethin, which is about English title level and Gethin is past it at this stage, Coyle isn't great but he should deal with him comfortably. Gethin's moving up two weight divisions for this Coyle fight, it's a pretty shocking main event.expe wrote:It's been shocking, 8 rounder between a novice and Ochieng, Fielding mismatch, Eggington-Singleton was decent, Saunders mismatch, Campbell mismatch and now we have Coyle-Gethin, which is about English title level and Gethin is past it at this stage, Coyle isn't great but he should deal with him comfortably. Terrible, terrible show.
Hearn is doing an awful job.

Get where your coming from, but Luke seems to have a bit more character.imo. Fighting under these circumstances for instance.expe wrote:Next Frankie Gavin, brilliant amateur, southpaw, turns pro, stops overmatched opponents, but looks feather fisted, pulls out of fights because of personal problems. Gavin always seems to feel sorry for himself. Like boxing owes him something.

I'm normally anti matchroom to be honest because of the home biasHorse wrote:Gethin's moving up two weight divisions for this Coyle fight, it's a pretty shocking main event.expe wrote:It's been shocking, 8 rounder between a novice and Ochieng, Fielding mismatch, Eggington-Singleton was decent, Saunders mismatch, Campbell mismatch and now we have Coyle-Gethin, which is about English title level and Gethin is past it at this stage, Coyle isn't great but he should deal with him comfortably. I must be in a good mood
The score of the first fight was ridiculous though
Re: Hull bill discussion thread 7th March 2015
The saunders fight sent me to sleep.this is pathetic from hearn
Re: Hull bill discussion thread 7th March 2015
They're both lightweights, Gethin was moving up to 10st at one point, so he might be a bit drained at 9st 9.Horse wrote:Gethin's moving up two weight divisions for this Coyle fight, it's a pretty shocking main event.expe wrote:It's been shocking, 8 rounder between a novice and Ochieng, Fielding mismatch, Eggington-Singleton was decent, Saunders mismatch, Campbell mismatch and now we have Coyle-Gethin, which is about English title level and Gethin is past it at this stage, Coyle isn't great but he should deal with him comfortably. Campbell waaay more potential than Gavin.
Gethin looking like a rich-man's Dean Gaffney.

Bit harsh - both these guys gave Derry a good argument, who was supposed to be fighting for a world title last night...expe wrote:Coyle-Gethin, which is about English title level and Gethin is past it at this stage, Coyle isn't great but he should deal with him comfortably. Re: Hull bill discussion thread 7th March 2015
It does look like a mismatch on paper. Is that why the promo team keep sounding doubtful about Coyle? It's like they are deliberately underselling Coyle so it won't look so much of a mismatch.Horse wrote:Gethin's moving up two weight divisions for this Coyle fight, it's a pretty shocking main event.expe wrote:It's been shocking, 8 rounder between a novice and Ochieng, Fielding mismatch, Eggington-Singleton was decent, Saunders mismatch, Campbell mismatch and now we have Coyle-Gethin, which is about English title level and Gethin is past it at this stage, Coyle isn't great but he should deal with him comfortably. Campbell beat a nobody in there but I reckon he will be a world champion. He looks to have extra gears to go through and he'll show his class in the next couple of years. Agree the Gethin V Coyle match is a bit wank though! Expect Coyle to blast him out before the 5th. Looking forward to the boxing on FrankNation later!

Re: Hull bill discussion thread 7th March 2015
Gethin is a lightweight. Coyle is a lightweight. The fight has been made at 138, so not sure where Horse is getting that people are moving up 2 weight divisions from.
Re: Hull bill discussion thread 7th March 2015
And Derry's domestic level, he has a punchers chance against Abril, but I can't see him winning on points. Coyle looked good against him, then dropped his hands in front of him and paid for it, he beat Gethin comfortably. Gethin looks more and more pedestrian with each passing fight and Coyle finds a way to get into a war with everyone he fights.whiteboy wrote:Bit harsh - both these guys gave Derry a good argument, who was supposed to be fighting for a world title last night...expe wrote:Coyle-Gethin, which is about English title level and Gethin is past it at this stage, Coyle isn't great but he should deal with him comfortably.
