Thurman vs Guerrero

Post by Ricky_ »

Not expecting a great fight, Thurman has the reputation of an exciting fighter but in reality his awkward style doesn't make for much of a watch. Add in Guerrero's southpaw maurading style, i'm not expecting much tonight.

Leaning towards Guerrero here, i think his experience & grit will get him through an edgy, awkward affair. Guerrero close but clear unanimous decision.

The closer the fight gets the more I'm leaning towards Guerrero. I still think Thurman will stick to boxing smart but Guerrero will have a good chance to disrupt Thurmans rhythm and make it a tough fight. I just hope for a good fight, it doesn't have to be toe to toe action, just a competitive fight.

I hope Molina knocks Broner out. Broner once again proves he's not 100% dedicated to boxing, he blew up in weight between fight and then misses weight once again. That IMO will be the better fight of the 2, someone is hitting the canvas.

I'd like to see both Molina and Thurman win. Thurman doesn't fight as exciting as his KO record would indicate.

i fancy guerrero for the upset tonight, not sure on molina though. Broner didn't look great at weigh-in, i think its a safe fight for him.

lets hope for some good judges tonight

Guerrero winning wouldn't be a shock to me, but a slight surprise. I think it will be a great fight.

After opening a huge 10-1 favorite, Thurman dropped to just a 6-1 choice.
In the past few hours, however, the unbeaten welterweight contender has been the choice of the late bettors, and the odds have risen to 8-1.

The overs/unders line on the bout is 10.5 rounds, with the overs being a 7-5 favorite. It's even money that the fight ends earlier.

I don't know what kind of shape Robert is in but if he is in shape anywhere near when he fought Mayweather or Berto, this should be a good fight, Guerrero can be an annoying person but is a great fighter.

Guerrero split decision.I have a feeling he will outbox Thurman but one judge
will prefer Thurman's power over Guerrero's style.
But hell I am wrong half the time :TU:

U damn right he's an annoying s.o.b........he's right behind Broner on my most hated list. Ive never seen him out of shape tho the douchebag is a true pro.

Guerrero's only chance is to catch Thurman off guard.

guerrero looked much better 3rd round and thurman didn't land as much.
tempted to give 3rd to guerrero
i'll say 2-1 thurman

not much separating them in the 4th
thurman landed a good overhand right, best punch of round, give it to him
3-1 thurman, could be 4-0

i thought guerrero would be busier than this but he obviously
respects thurman's power. he has been hit a few times and
hasn't looked hurt, though.

i gave 5th to thurman but not a lot separating them in that
round either. really all the rounds could go to thurman or
i could see a couple going to guerrrero if someone was
generous.

When Thurman keeps it on the outside and pot shots he makes it look so easy, but anytime he lunges in he looks vulnerable to counters and when he does get hit he seems to eager to trade. Guerrero should take more risks and try and drag him into a bit of a war, because on the outside Thurman is way too good.

Its like Guerrero and Molina went in with the mindset of losing its a joke there not even trying to win.

guerrero came forward and moved his hands the whole 7th.
thurman was still effective moving and pot shotting though
so i gave it to thurman.

Thought Thurman schooled Guerrero in the 7th, that was a great example of ring control off the back foot.

thurman comes on strong in last 30 2nd to take a lot
of these even rounds. another one in the bank for
thurman. i think ghost needs a ko to win already.

i need to see that knockdown again.
it looked like a short inside shot.
guerrero took a LOOONG time getting up.
surprised he survived the round.
i'm done scoring. ghost needs to land a hail mary punch
