Yes, and they were good match ups. However, some of the undercard matches shouldn't have been allowed (certainly in the case of Satchell's opponent).

As I said, I'm not interested in being a fan of one promoter, and constantly criticising the other.

I guess I was prompted to post after reading one of those types of posts, in the interest of balancing it up a bit.

Recently, and quite rightly, some of Matchroom's matchmaking has come in for a bit of stick (last night's walkovers for Fielding and Saunders being prime examples).

However, the last two weeks on Fwank's cards have seen some truly diabolical "opposition" for Buglioni, Skeete, Pettit, Liam Smith and Satchell.

They are all at it. No point bending over backwards to criticise one over the other IMHO.

The promoters make the matches that they can get away with - it is in their own interests to make fights that their fighters can win.

It is the Board that allow these mismatches by sanctioning the fights.

What can be done about the current situation?

I mean, it's not as if there are any other sanctioning bodies looking to operate in this country is it ? ....

The MBC are hardly championing quality match-ups either, check out the listed opposition for Tasif Khan and Nick Quigley on the upcoming Liverpool show.

The BBBofC should step in if necessary, I agree, but the promoters aren't blameless. I'd say it's actually in their own interests to make fights that a) but bums on seats in the arenas and b) attract viewers on tv.

Blatant mismatches (just in size, let alone ability) won't do either in the long run. Even Buglioni's fanbase would dwindle if he kept on being matched like last weekend.

He could have been, but he could have said that he went after Liam's fight instead of coming out with his usual mardy response. Doesn't seem like he gets on well with Frank or allegedly so he probably did get out of there as quickly as he could.
