Re: 2015 world champions
Fury to get beaten by Klitschko. Unless he falls straight into a Wilder fight late in the year I don't see him being champion.
Khan won't get the Mayweather or Pacquiao option and will not take the Brook fight waiting on the other 2.
I give Groves and Degale both a good shout of picking up a title this year. I'm going to say 1 of the 2 will be world champion by next January
At middlewieght Eubank, Murray and Saunders could all get shots over the next year or 2, but I'm not sure I fancy any to pick up titles.
Would love to see Murray get an easy title fight at home, but probably unlikely
Selby to beat Gradovich?? Don't know much about Gradovich, but i've always had the feeling Selby would be the type to fall at the final hurdle, hope he proves me wrong
Terry Flanagan? ranked 7 by WBO with Crawford vacating. Not outrageous to think he might get a shot sometime soon
Galahad, C Smith, AJ, Yafai? not this year.
Current champions Froch, Brook, Frampton (Quigg and McDonnell WBA "champions") we could potentially lose more champions than we gain

Flanagan us supposed to be fighting the Ao/Diaz winner for the WBO title... Really depends where that is held.

Diaz in the US, I think they'd get Ao over here.Boxing Prospect wrote:Flanagan us supposed to be fighting the Ao/Diaz winner for the WBO title... Really depends where that is held.

Laughably Eubank is already 'technically' a world champion according to the World Bullsh1t Association.davie wrote:Fury to get beaten by Klitschko. Unless he falls straight into a Wilder fight late in the year I don't see him being champion.

Selby is prob most likely at present as you say. He's a 2/1 on favourite over Gradovich. I get what you say about Selby falling at last hurdle.
Re: 2015 world champions
Flannagan - seen a bit of vulnerability over the last year but he's a very good southpaw with high work rate. Would stand a chance against anyone at lightweight will be a World Champion maybe not this year.
Fury - I think Klitscho will fight Wilder next. Less risk for more reward in my eyes. I think Fury will pick up s belt late on next year but will be one Wlad vacates.
Selby - Away from Lomachenko quite a open division will be World Champ this year..
Khan - Fight will happen v Brook and Khan will win the title
Galahad - May well be the one that sneaks through I think he's better than Quigg it's just where does he get a title. Galahad v Frampton would be brilliant.
Degale - Will win the world title in his next fight.
Groves - im 50/50 on this one. He has the potential I think he may well will pick one up.
Losing titles this year
I expect McDonnell, Quigg and Brook to all loose their titles by the end of the year

Re: 2015 world champions
How is fighting Wilder less risk than fighting Fury? Surely Wilder is by far a riskier proposition for Wlad due to his power?daviddee wrote:

Re: 2015 world champions
Wlad will control Wilder easily. It's will be safety first and would expect Wilder to take a bit of a beating and stopped mid to late rounds. Fury is different is bigger than Wlad and his style will cause him lots of problems. He has quick hands for a modern heavyweight and picks his punches well. Fury will beat Wlad and I think Wlad knows this. Wilder is a more risky fight for Fury on the other hand as he is unpredictableBoxerbeetle wrote:How is fighting Wilder less risk than fighting Fury? Re: 2015 world champions
Wilders power and Fury's size will both give Wlad plenty to think about, but I just think with the combination of ability and experience Wlad is just too good for bothBoxerbeetle wrote:How is fighting Wilder less risk than fighting Fury? Wlad will know exactly how to deal with both guys and has the ability (and dirty tricks if need be) to deal with both conclusively, IMHO
Fury has effectively been told he gets Wlad after Jennings.
I predict Wlad widely outpointing Fury, putting him on the floor a couple times in the process, then as daviddee said, controlling Wilder, frustrating him before walking him on to a heavy mid rounds stoppage.
Re: 2015 world champions
Mitchell is mandatory and if Hearn dips in to his pocket to get linares over here i think kev can do it.
Been said crolla will get a title shot this year. If it's mickey bey he can win.
Billy joe can beat quillin or lee.
Liam Walsh could find himself in a shot this year.
And due to the matchroom saucer land link, cleverly could end up with braehmer. I believe clev would beat him.

We've already lost Froch - Brook and Frampton are our only champions.

You seem much more confident than Khan.daviddee wrote:

Re: 2015 world champions
Selby and DeGale are our best chance and maybe Flanagan if Fwank can get him a shot at the vacant title. Liam Walsh has the talent to pick up a strap if he gets a shot. Kevin Mitchell has an outside chance depending on what Kevin turns up when his shot comes around. Bellew will probably end up getting a shot at some point but can't see him troubling any of the champs at Cruiser. I just can't make an argument in favour of Fury over Wlad just now. Maybe Wilder if he takes that route.
Re: 2015 world champions
Going by Cleverlys' last performance he'd be better sticking to his sums! Rank!

Mitchell over Linares.
Re: 2015 world champions
He'll fight Fury after Jennings anyway. I think Wilder's free of HBO now and Haymon isn't in a rush to work with them, Wlad has one fight left on his three fight deal and HBO seem to be keen on the Fury fight.Boxerbeetle wrote:How is fighting Wilder less risk than fighting Fury? Re: 2015 world champions
I'm not convinced Degale will beat Direll
Re: 2015 world champions
Degale and Selby are the ones I believe are most likely to win world titles.
I would also add the potential of Jamie Conlan, Kevin Satchell, Lee Haskins and maybe even Eamonn O'Kane to get a shot at a world title.

Re: 2015 world champions
It's one of those "i told you so" posts that will be forgotten about unless Wlad manages to lose concentration at the precise moment Fury's prayers are answered. In such an event Davie will attempt to dine out on his prophecy for life.Deserter wrote:daviddee wrote:Fury will beat Wlad and I think Wlad knows this.![]()

Fury has come on in leaps and bounds but the careful matchmaking and extreme caution since the near do with Steve Cunningham speak volumes. The lad is being wisely managed to a. be maneuvered into place (mission accomplished), b. earn a big pot of gold. and c. roll the dice when the time comes.
For all the progress made, Fury has shown nothing that would indicate he'll give Wlad a difficult night's work.

Neither am I, I'm a little worried that his last two wins flattered him slightly.Naandrew wrote:I'm not convinced Degale will beat Direll
I still think he will win a world title sooner or later
Re: 2015 world champions
I think they flattered him as a puncher but I believe he's still got more to show as a boxer at the top level. Very tough fight against Dirrell though.keirw wrote:Neither am I, I'm a little worried that his last two wins flattered him slightly.Naandrew wrote:I'm not convinced Degale will beat Direll

Re: 2015 world champions
I reckon if both George Groves vs Anthony Dirrell for the WBC and James Degale vs Andre Dirrell for the IBF were to happen, both would be risky but winnable fights.danamba7 wrote:I think they flattered him as a puncher but I believe he's still got more to show as a boxer at the top level. I'd struggle to call either bout.
I wouldn't be surprised if we ended up with 2 world champions at the end of it and wouldn't be surprised if we didn't.
