Back when it was really just top rank and goldenboy dominating the scene, we knew who couldn't fight who, sometimes.
But now with Haymon, Goldenboy, Top rank, Roc nation I'm no longer sure who can work together and who can't
Am I correct in thinking there has been a bit of smoothing over with the Goldenboy/Toprank, HBO/Showtime issues, particularly with the mayweather vs pacquiao issue resolved
Haymon looks to be cutting his own path, ignoring governing bodies. does he look set to shun rival promotional stables or can his fighters still fight others?
What about Gary Shaw and Don King or other non-US promoters, we know there are "agreements" but is there anyone who couldn't work together, Sauerland, Matchroom or Teiken?
Some of the more knowledgeable poster want to keep me in the loop here?
Who can work with who?

• Haymon doesn’t work with Top Rank.
• HBO won’t work with Al Haymon.
• Golden Boy Promotions has only recently re-established their business partnership with HBO.
• It’s unclear at this point in time if the working relationship between Haymon and Golden Boy has ceased, but I sincerely doubt that this is the case.
• Roc Nation is likely to side with HBO & Top Rank, due to Haymon’s relationship with Showtime, but things may change depending on Al’s decisions going forward with the PBC. Stephen Espinoza doubts that the PBC will harm Haymon’s relationship with Showtime.
• HBO & Showtime will only ever consider working together to joint-promote historical mega-money super-fights, due to the complexity of the negotiations and the commercial aspects of splitting the pot.
• We don’t know for certain whether Haymon really has abandoned boxing’s governing bodies, because he wouldn’t have paid large sums of money for the likes of Viktor Postol and Billy Joe Saunders to step aside for his men.
• Haymon has a good working relationship with many promoters not named Top Rank, Roc Nation & Main Events.
• I’m not really sure about Gary Shaw or Roc Nation, but their split was supposed to have been amicable, with the former having a good working relationship with the likes of Lou Dibella, Top Rank, Golden Boy and I think Al Haymon also.
• Don King constantly praises Al Haymon.
• Don King and Bob Arum used to dislike each other, but fights still got made, despite their animosity. I’m led to believe that King & Arum are now on good terms.
• I’m not sure about European promoters like Sauerland & Matchroom, but I know that Eddie Hearn has worked with Bob Arum and Al Haymon to try to match Carl Froch with Chavez Jr. I suspect that there is no contractual alliances between these guys and their American counterparts.
Holy shit.
And we're supposed to remember all this on threads when we're discussing who should fight who next

& we should all be thankful for the PBC for clearing the waters & allowing such a breadth of great fights to be made, whilst we're at it.

Re: Who can work with who?
If Floyd and Manny, SHO & HBO can come together to make the biggest fight in boxing history happen, then I'm certain the lower level players and the likes of Haymon should be able to all work together and make their little menial fights happen.davie wrote:Back when it was really just top rank and goldenboy dominating the scene, we knew who couldn't fight who, sometimes.

The question isn't "who can work with who" but rather "who is willing to work with who?"
