Sam Langford vs Louis/Charles/Marciano

Most historians consider Sam Langford one of the greatest P4P fighters of all time. How would he fare against the champions of the next generation?

Johnson only beat him once when Sam was a young middleweight, Sam chased him all over the world for a promised rematch which Jack avoided like plague. Wills only beat him well past his prime and said that he considered Sam the greatest he fought and "unbeatable in his prime".

Johnson was 30 pounds heavier and about 5 inches taller when he fought Langford. Needless to say when Langford packed on more weight and experience Johnson was no longer interested. Even though he did fight Jim Johnson, a B-level heavy who was also black. As for Wills, when Sam still had two good eyes he knocked out the bigger man. In his prime Sam would be favoured against a lot of good heavyweights.

I'd have him even money with any great heavyweight. From what I read he was forced to carry fighters and all who fought him considered him the best. Jack Dempsey was afraid of an old Sam.
