MBC does not bring anything to the table to enhance pro boxing in this country, and how can it be morally right for the promotor at certain shows to actually be the referee :witzend:

How can anybody fight for the 'Irish International Professional Middleweight Championship' when they have won 1 and lost 8 fights, (the 1 he won was against an opponment who has won 1 and lost 41) :o

As long as there is a sanctioning fee anything is possible with this crowd it would appear

This is a fight between a 41 year old with a record of 6 wins and 31 losses and a guy with 1 win and 8 losses. In effect it is a normal routine boxing match of zero significance. What these cowboys are doing is providing a title for the promoter to hang over this fight, to make it appear to have some significance. This is a new low for meaningless titles. It quite literally means nothing. International and intercontinental titles are bad enough, but at least there is the need to have some sort of talent involved in the ring. The MBC have taken the concept of a pointless title and plumbed new depths with it. The important thing to note here is that, quite clearly, the MBC are willing to sanction ANY fight for a title. That is genuinely a new low point for the sport. Until now, nobody would sanction a fight of this sort as being a title fight. The MBC openly advertise to promoters that they will do this. Shame on them.

Are the MBC's Irish supporters going to continue endorsing his fight with the board when Luca's bogus body takes its crap title into the BUI's territory?

10 pages in, and hardly any comments about Luca's desire to bring back the "glory days" of the WBU. For shame.

Im still reading with a lot of interest however it does scare me that Luca does not answer some of the more alarming questions that are put up by some of the more notable Boxrec members who in my opinion know what they are talking about.

Luca, as ive sat on the fence throughout I would like to know your reply regarding the Irish International title that has been discussed, in regards to the record of the participant who has only 1 win and is getting the chance to win a 'title'

You mean the BUI? If so then it will be interesting to see what they do.

He probably got fed up banging his head against a brick wall and decided to spend his time doing something more constructive - like pissing in the wind or something.

To be fair for 8 pages he displayed great patience and eloquence and answered every question in detail, however whatever he said a number of posters would not listen to what he was saying and would just come back with a personal insult or the same questions that had already been answered.

What more evidence do you want that he's in it for the money? Read through this thread again, if you can come back and tell me that Mr Di Caro should have anything to do with boxing in this country, or that his presence will do any good for boxing in this country, you either can't read, are as big a liar as he is, or an idiot.

If I recall correctly you have never even set foot in a boxing ring ring so don't get all ten-men over the Internet throwing out insults.

I don't know the bloke so cannot comment on his motives, but so what if he is motivated by money? - are you saying that the likes of Frank and Eddie and every other promoter is in it for the altruistic benefit of the advancement of the sport ? No chance - they are all only in it for the money.

Your point was that he is in boxing for the money.

My point is that many (most?) people involved in boxing are "in it for the money"

Why is it ok for them but not for him?

Because they are promoters, he is supposedly running a governing body, he shouldn't be making money from it apart from whatever salary he's paid.

I am not sure if he is running a Governing body - the MBC is a Sanctioning body?

It seems that most of your argument centres around semantics and that you feel that this persons main motive is personal financial gain.

Again, I would say that most people involved in boxing - in whatever capacity - are paid for their involvement.

Governing body/sanctioning body, same principle applies, neither should be out to make a profit.

It's pretty obvious that his motive is financial gain, unless you choose to believe his lies.

I never said he shouldn't be paid, if he's going to run sanctioning bodies or whatever you want to call them, I have no issue with him being paid a fair wage for the work undertaken, but that has to be a realistic wage, not just as much money as he can possibly make.

I do not understand your argument.

We live in a democracy, surely people are allowed to earn a living as long as what they are doing is legal?

frank, Eddie and the rest are out to earn as much as possible and I don't think it unreasonable that others are allowed the same.

Out of interest, what exactly is a "fair" wage or a "realistic" wage for a role in a sanctioning body?
