He should only vacate the division if his body can take it. If Golovkin does move up, I'd like to see him have a fight or two with decent opponents before fighting Ward. So often do we hear about people moving up without giving their bodies time to adjust - I'm sure Manny Steward (I may have the wrong trainer) said that it takes around one year for most boxers to adapt to the new weight and even with Ward having been out for so long, he would still be incredibly dangerous. There's no need for Golovkin to rush, I'm sure Ward will still be there in a year.
