Amir Khan is always ducking!
Thurman challenged Khan twice,he still had no interest,Kell Brook been calling Khan out since before the Devon Alexander fight,he still had no interest, even had the nerve,to say Brook isn't on the same level as him and he is begging for a fight.Khan is also open for a rematch with Marcos Maidana,he probably would refuse that fight too.Instead of those fights,he wants to fight Adrien Broner and even sayed he would love to fight Broner, someone that isn't on his level at all.
Re: Amir Khan is always ducking!
According to Guerrero he turned him down twice also. He turned down the Alexander fight last year, but Khan still swears he has never turned down any fight. You would think the guy would get tired of getting laughed at, but guess he isn't all that bright to begin with, and brings it on himself.psychod1986 wrote:Thurman challenged Khan twice,he still had no interest,Kell Brook been calling Khan out since before the Devon Alexander fight,he still had no interest, even had the nerve,to say Brook isn't on the same level as him and he is begging for a fight.Khan is also open for a rematch with Marcos Maidana,he probably would refuse that fight too.Instead of those fights,he wants to fight Adrien Broner and even sayed he would love to fight Broner, someone that isn't on his level at all.

Re: Amir Khan is always ducking!
Amir is just trying to get the best possible fight for him it seems like. And I mean he seems to be continual pretty damn close to a big fight. He's won a vote on FB or w/e to be Floyd's next opponent like a year or w/e ago. He's talking to Manny about getting in the ring. All the lesser title holders are chasing him lol. Thats how attractive an opponent Amir is.
From a more relatable job offer situation for most of us non-pro boxer guys here it'd be silly to not sit back & choose wisely on your options in Amir's position. There are lotsa considerations & I can't blame a guy with options with looking them over & choosing the best one for him. And that could be immediately just the best $$$ offered or it could be the third best money option, but a more upside long term type fight.
Give the cat a break with this ducking f@ggotry cuz he's not being careless & just rushing into things.

Khan reminds me Cotto. They both think that they are most deserving to fight Floyd and everything else is just stay busy fights before getting that big payday.

Americans love to hate Khan, he must be doing something right.

I imagine a lot of British people love to hate Amir. I can't diss him for his boxing business decisions, but he does come off as a dumbass showing his dick on skype, trying to pay for sex with MTV stars & his overall buffoonery. He's definitely not doing a lot of sh!t right lol regardless of him being smarter in his boxing decision making.tsmithy50 wrote:Americans love to hate Khan, he must be doing something right.
Re: Amir Khan is always ducking!
I think he should have ducked more in his career then he might not have been knockdown so much!
Re: Amir Khan is always ducking!
I've been hard on Khan in the past but I am not going to agree here.
I'd love to see him fight Thurman or Brook.
But I cannot blame the guy for wanting Cotto, Canelo, Pac and Floyd instead.
No duck.

I'm not trying to say it's a valid excuse, but Khan has a suspect chin. Khan knows he has a suspect chin.
There is every chance he could fight guys like Thurman, Brook or Porter and the outcome would be similar to the Garcia or Maidana fights, box their ears off for large portions of the fight, then get tagged with one big shot and everything goes out the window or worse, he ends up sparked on the canvas.
That's why he is unlikely to go looking for Thurman, Porter, Brook or Maidana, Garcia or even Marquez, because no matter how confident he is in his boxing ability and his handspeed, these guys ability to stop you with one shot is a massive risk for someone with Khans chin.
It must be galling to be so comfortable in a fight and everything just unravels when you get tagged
some people say it's about levels, some people say it's about styles.
With Khan it's very much about styles. I'd take him to win every one of those fights above on points, if he can avoid getting hit with a big shot and that's a huge IF in a 12 round fight (and he's not a known puncher himself so he has to survive 12 rounds in fights like these).
Pacquiao, Mayweather, even Tim Bradley are the types of fights he's after (lets be honest, they're the type of fight every welter weight is after, Khan is not alone in looking for a big payday)
But I don't just think it's just about the money.
He may get completely out boxed by Floyd, he may get peppered by shots by manny and he may get roughed up a bit by Tim. If he fought all 3 he could potentially come out of it 0-3
But he will look at these guys as guys who have not been knocking out opponents with big shots and think, this is far less risky than someone who bangs like Thurman or Garcia.
And, rightly or wrongly, the faith he has in his handspeed and skill, means he will be confident of winning any fight in which he see's the final bell
Simple as that.
We slate people for fighting guys ranked 15 by the WBA because they can.
Khan is aiming for the very best (yes, he's doing it to avoid danger men) but it's not like he's avoiding the big fights to take an easy match, he want to fight the best in the division.
If he is fighting someone at the level of Devon Alexander or B roner while he waits on that chance, i'll not complain too much

I agree,Mayweather will not agree to fight Amir Khan. The Brook fight was already open for Khan,he kept refusing to fight Kell Brook. The Brook vs Khan was suppose been happen, ever time Brook and his team try to get the fight,Khan would say some bullshit like Brook is begging for a fight and he isn't on the same level as i am,Yeah Right Brook is the IBF Champ.

Idk if words = trying. I think boxing fans love to get excited about talk, but talk is still just talk. I think staying away from people with some pop is a good decision for Amir & I'd be surprised & think it wasn't the best decision to get in the ring with a big puncher unless something huge is on the line.koolkc107 wrote: If he is worried about his chin, why is he trying fight Cotto or even Canelo as a middleweight?
Like if tomorrow Lucas or Ruslan fell out of their fight & the other guy was willing to come up to 147 Amir would be wise to pass on that. Nothing to gain & some power to be concerned with with both of those guys. Keith has good power, but I could see that as worthwhile for Amir cuz beating Keith arguable takes him to the front of the Floyd line which I believe is his #1 goal & rightly so.

Re: Amir Khan is always ducking!
Khan is willing to fight Canelo at Middleweight? lol Never heard of that.
Just because something comes out of his mouth, it doesn't mean it is true. If you have not figured that out, you are dumber than Khan, very new to boxing, or both.
Khan seems to have a lot of courage when the match-up favors his style. He was knocked the fornicate out by a 140 pounder, had back to back losses, then beat a feather fisted lightweight, then lost imo to a blown up washed up guy (Diaz) whom he made cut to 142 or 143 and after the fight blamed his poor performance on the weight cut?!
He has said before he wants a big fight against the top guy then retire before 30. That is why he is ducking the rest of the top guys in the division. Personally I don't think he has any intention of fighting guys like Thurman, Guerrero, Porter, and Thurman, or Maidana at 147. Maidana weighed 165 for Floyd's first fight with him. Imagine how drained he was at 140. Maybe khan isn't that dumb.
Google "Khan plans to retire at 28". It has been his plan for some time now. There is a reason he is trying to leapfrog the best to get a good performance against Floyd or Pac, then retire. I personally hope he doesn't get either, and is forced to prove himself.

Khan better hide gram Sammy Vasquez cause the WhoCan Mexican veteran Iraqi warrior would thrash Khan!

Why would a welterweight want to fight a light middleweight at middleweight?koolkc107 wrote:

Seriously, that's just stupid.
I don't believe he desperately wants to fight either, but both would be an excellent payday and although both can bang, neither is a total knock out artist, so it may be worth his while
But I think, even if the Cotto fight were to happen, Khan would not want to do it an ounce over 154lbs.

I've never really believed boxers retirement plans since before I even had all the evidence to see how low a percentage of guys hold to them. I did believe Oscar's retire before 30(?) story just because of all the money he was making & Bhop's cuz he said he promised his dying mother or whatever, but beyond those two cases, where my gullibility showed, I don't believe them.
I can't believe them cuz boxing is a sexy way to make a lot of money & I think athletes tend to have a hard time retiring & boxing is unfortunately a sport where you can keep fighting into your 40's & 50's even if you aren't world class with the low quality control & low point of entry in the sport.
