... and if Milan Ruso beats Petr Jasukievic this year, he goes on top. Those are #978 and #990 in boxrec LHW ratings, and they deserve to be #1 as much as the duck Braehmer.handsofstone wrote:No1 but if Braehmer beats Krasniqi next week ,he goes top

I don't rank him that high, tbh.
I recall prior to the Hopkins fight virtually everyone said that he would blow BHop out of there inside a few rounds, or even make Hopkins quit. The fact that he wasn't able to--- and it went the distance--- even though he won every round in a big way--- shows me, that he has his own limitations that people want to ignore. To me, he hasn't fought anyone of any real consequence who was all in their prime, or of any real value and worth, because they are either undersized or were European stock fighters anyways.
I can say the same thing, to a degree, about GGG.

You recall wrong. Only about 60 percent picked Kovalev in the prediction contest and there was a very sizable minority who predicted that Hopkins would 'school' him.HomicideHenry wrote: I recall prior to the Hopkins fight virtually everyone said that he would blow BHop out of there inside a few rounds, or even make Hopkins quit.

He must be around the top five or six now.

Re: Where do you rank Kovalev P4P?
No-one lately beat B-Hop that easily regardless of what his age Kovalev showed he is a crafty guy not a fighter who needs a ko to be victorius
I'm almost certain that he has the measure of WBC champ Adonis Stevenson he could make it a easy night if he boxed he's the best light heavy on the planet at the moment
I think he would surely be in the top ten P4P somewhere.

Correction: nobody EVER beat BHop that easily.ClivePatrickLyons wrote:No-one lately beat B-Hop that easily regardless of what his age Kovalev showed he is a crafty guy not a fighter who needs a ko to be victorius

Laughable post. The poll of Hopkins/Kovalev was 50/50 on this site as well as the boxing media. Kovalev rocked Hopkins around the ring while barely trying. I don't question, I know, the limitation of your analytical skill.HomicideHenry wrote:I don't rank him that high, tbh.

Lol - I just read the "Euro stock" bit. You've got more issues than I thought.

Re: Where do you rank Kovalev P4P?
Kovalev has entered The Ring magazine's P4P list at #10, which I think is appropriate.
Re: Where do you rank Kovalev P4P?
It's the first time I can remember that The Ring has had the same 10 fighters in their P4P list as I do.crusader wrote:Kovalev has entered The Ring magazine's P4P list at #10, which I think is appropriate.
I assume Chuck Giampa isn't in charge of their P4P rankings any more.

let me think....
top 5

Re: Where do you rank Kovalev P4P?
IMO you have to give more credit to the guys like Kovalev and GGG because they are undefeated consensus champions of their divisions and want to not only fight the very best out there but do it 3 to 4 times a year. I've got Kovalev and GGG in my top 5 Pound for Pound ranking. If elite fighters are doing everything they can to avoid you, you should get credit for that. Floyd tops the list still but Manny's not in my top 5. IMO, if you get knocked out, you really shouldn't be very high on this list.
