Roman Gonzalez fighting on HBO
Roman Gonzalez fighting on HBO
The excellent Nicaraguan will be fighting on the GGG-Monroe undercard, most likely against Edgar Sosa it seems. Not an amazing fight, but I'm glad to see him get a major platform to showcase his abilities on.

It's about time!
Now we can watch his p4p status grow on all lists. I'm not big on p4p lists, but I do like to see a fighter the caliber of this guy get the recognition he deserves. Realistically, it's hard to see him outside the top 5.

Re: Roman Gonzalez fighting on HBO
Sosa is an excellent boxer who i m o is getting Roman a couple of years late, but will make for a good contest. Stylewise i think he is better equipped to deal with Gonzalez than estrada or yaegashi were, or viloria is for that matter. Sharper more compact hitter than the former, more organised under pressure than the latter.
still, good fight. Vegas in may is it?

Sosa just confirmed on Twitter that it's him.
The fight will be May 16th in Inglewood, California.

Re: Roman Gonzalez fighting on HBO
My guess is Inoue is 'naturally bigger' by a good few pounds. Play it smart and make him come down. You're the established mini-star and geeks top 5 p4p guy, i mean sh1t you don't got too many leverage points down south in bandit country, 126lbs and down, but Roman sure has those in his favour

SQUUUUEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE
Ahem.
First, great to see the little dude on big American TV.
Secondly, as Counter-puncher said, Sosa is a very good little fighter & presents a decent stylistic (though, less so a physical) match-up.
& if that projection of Chocolatito's future plans is anything like true... Wow.
He's like a dream come true.

Be great to watch Gonzalez live for once. I remember reading an article about him 6 years ago when he exploded onto the world scene. Be great if they could get him a unification with Estrada.

Gonzalez/Sosa is decent, but I thought he was gonna rematch Estrada. What happened to that?
