I'd say it's probably 65/35 in favour of Iwasa. The "Eagle Eye" can pretty much do it all and although his record may not suggest it he really can BANG! [Not on Yamanaka's level but he can bang].

As for venue, Japan would seem almost certain with Teiken likely to be the winning purse bid, if it goes that far (Iwasa isn't a Teiken fighter but they were the ones who won the purse bid for Iwasa/Perales and appear to be working towards Iwasa Vs Yamanaka II).

Good fight but I think it's a very trick one for Haskins.

Incidentally Haksins was offered a fight with Iwasa after Perales pulled out of their scheduled eliminator however Haskins had his fight in Monaco signed for a few days later. Seems like it's worked out well for the pair of them!

Side note-If you get the chance to watch it, the Iwasa/Yamanaka fight was freakin' awesome

I think really though if we look at it objectively, it's only cos a few in his weight class have had undeserving title shots that has made Haskins look "over due".

In reality, Haskins has achieved about the same as Ian Napa, but no-one really called for Napa to have a world title, but that because in Napa's time fighters like Hall, Butler and Ward didn't get world title shots.

Compared to Jamie Moore in the recent past and Tyson Fury currently..... Haskins is not worthy of a title shot..... but compared to Hall, Butler and Ward he most certainly is.

Since he came back and fought Mohamed Bouleghcha which was for the WBA inter Title he has won the Euro Twice The British Title and Defended it, imo there ain't much more for him to do in the Weight except step up to a world Title Shot.......

I think you left an important part of my quote in there "compared to Tyson Fury and Jamie Moore"..... and all through my post I name 3 guys less deserving of a title shot than Haskins.... but the poster asked if there was anyone more deserving.... yes - Tyson Fury currently and Jamie Moore is the biggest travesty.

Tyson Fury has beaten more top 10 ranked opponents than Haskins and never lost the EBU title in the first place to win it back again. Moore, well again British champion for about 5 years, clear #1 in his division in the UK for about 5 years - something Haskins isn't and there might be some argument if he ever has been..... off course compared to Hall, Ward and Butler he is long over due a shot THE most deserving British fight - no currently that's Fury, and off all time that is Jamie Moore (probably by some distance).

Spot on I'd say, and I'm a Haskins fan. Had he beaten Jamoye in Belgium I'd have said he definitely was definitely worthy of a World title shot at that point. Right now I'd have said he would be worthy of a WT shot if he won a final eliminator against a good internationally ranked opponent. That is essentially what this fight with Iwasa is, altho in fairness I think there are far easier final eliminators he could have got lumbered with.

Haskins did lost the euro Title tho, to a Belgium Kid... He got stopped in the 8th. Stephane Jamoye Boxed for 2 world titles after that and came up short.

Rough translation of what one Japanese Sports website states-

Celes Kobayashi (42) chairman of Celes Gym, revealed the outlook as "likely to go into enemy territory." Game time is around July.

The biggest venue they can find in Bristol is a leisure centre and Haskins isn't with a major promoter. Unless something is going on behind the scenes that we haven't heard about, there was a supposed link up between Haskins and Hobson last year, but that went quiet, they must have got Warren or Hearn on board to get the fight over here.
