While most promoters become popular and rich because they make great matches, Haymon looks like he just has a monopoly of some sorts by babying his boxing clients and giving them easy matchups. It sucks for the fans, but it's good for his boxers and gives him and his boxers easy money.

I suspect that there are some people who dislike him largely or only due to him being black, but racism is projected in all directions and it's inane to suggest that most or all the 'hate' (I doubt many of the so-called haters feel that strongly) directed towards him is due to his race, as the OP has suggested before. Today people are so sensitive about race that it's difficult to have interracial interactions without someone ascribing racist sentiments to at least one of the actors, like when you accused people of being racist simply because they opined that Andre Ward fouls frequently.

I don't know why people deny the significant levels of racism that still exists in the world. Hate groups are growing in the US and Europe (so they say). Also, much of the racist views in the world are hidden within nationalism or whatever "pride" people choose to profess.

It makes people feel the world is better than it is I think. I would say "significant" isn't necessarily how I'd angle it. I think racism & other "ism's" are probably at an all time low in society's history, which is obviously a great thing. BUT it still exists.

With all the PED conversations I've had here (I'm pro PED's, ~99% of people here are anti-PEDs lol) I think maybe this ease of denial many have could stem from some sort of desire to believe the world is more just than it is. In some cases people may not wanna believe they haven't gained from a uneven playing field cuz that'd make them realize maybe they aren't as awesome as they'd like to believe. Basically like they've been fed racial PEDs for their entire life for lack of a better name lol.
