2015 might be the best year of boxing in a very long time!!!

Post by Chepppaaa »

Mayweather vs Pacquiao happening :TU:

Kovalev vs Stevenson on the horizon :bag:

Provodnikov vs Matthysse, what has the potential to turn out as the best fight ever, when just considering ACTION

than a lot more free boxing

I mean if everything turns out as the dream scenario that i would like it to turn out with kov boxing adonis this year and maybe rigo against cruz etc. than realy 2015 could very well turn out to be a great boxing year.

I agree Matthysse v Provodnikov could be the best fight ever,it can't not be great, worst case scenario someone gets KO'd too early

Do you not see that as a possibility at all?

I'm not seeing many say its gonna suck I know that. And I've seen many, myself included, who think its easily gonna be a FOTY contender virtually worse case. Its definitely not the most likely outcome don't get me wrong, but its maybe the best bet for best fight ever if you were betting on it, of any fight on deck.

Although to go with my usual logic with All Time Great & Pound for Pound discussion its a silly concept to even discuss the Best Fight Ever when there is so much history in the sport over many decades just in its modern form & few here would be equipped to discuss it.

I don't understand your reply, Fergus.

Provodnikov vs Matthysse will likely be an explosive war that every boxing fan will enjoy. Read what the boxing writers are saying about it.

Definitely looking good at the moment. Hopefully more big fights to come as well. If Golovkin can get a massive fight at the end of the year (Canelo or Cotto) and Kovalev v Stevenson happens then it'll be a great year for boxing.

To say that any upcoming fight might be the best fight ever is pretty wishful thinking, but whatever, let the man dream. It's definitely a good fight on paper.
Can't argue with OP, there is a lot to be excited about already in 2015.

Garcia vs Peterson is another excellent matchup
Canelo vs Kirkland should be great entertainment while it lasts

You said Provo vs Matthysse will be the best fight ever, but then say bar fights slugging it out is boring..... correct me if I am wrong, but I think Provo vs Matthysse will be more like a bar fight slugging it out than a display showcasing the fine art of their pugilistic talents.

at least provod vs matt is an bar fight on a high level, not those amateur trained, out of shape boring ufc bar fighters, body builder tough guys, who either throw hands with 0,0 power or roll around on the floor like bitches

What i meant is the best guys are always fighting the best avalaible opponent. But your answer is quite weird. I like combat sport, boxing more than MMA but still they put a great product out there

horrible....pride days were great, but ufc is just boring rolling around and guys with no punching power throwing shots that do nothing, bunch of aggressive testoterone wrestler body builder. just horrible.
