Juergen Braehmer vs Robin Krasniqi

Post by handsofstone »

I know its not British or Irish and I also know its an awful fight but there's not much local action this weekend and this ones live on Sky

TBF there's nowt much point in predicting anything other than a wide decision for Braehmer, he has good power but I doubt he stops Krasniqi, apart from a late surge Robin was poor in his world title challenge against Cleverly,he's picked up a handful of wins against stiffs since

I think Braehmer's a great fighter actually but I hate the fact that he chooses to continue fighting guys who are levels below him when he showed in the amateurs he can beat the best,I'd love to see him in with Stevenson or Kovalev

PS-Alfonso Gomez v Yoshihiro Kamegai should be fun tomorrow night providing we don't see Gomez take a prolonged beating :box:

But yeah has Braehmer ever mentioned fighting the "other" champs?

Braehmer is highly protected and seems to have little ambition to challenge the division's elite. He was supposed to have a unification bout with Shumenov a few years ago but pulled out, and of course he withdrew from his fight with Cleverly, who is in my view better than anyone he's beaten and easily won just about every round against Krasniqi. He's a solid fighter but he's struggled with multiple second-tier and third-tier opponents (compare his life and death struggle with Sukhotsky to Stevenson's destruction and Kovalev-victim Cornelius White's near shutout of the same fighter) and I think he'd get beaten handily by Kovalev and Stevenson, while probably losing to Alvarez, Pascal, and Hopkins. In fact, I question whether he'd beat someone like Issac Chilemba assuming fair judging.

I think he is being lined up for Cleverly next, I may be wrong or of course it could be Enzo again but surely with him being on British tv and this new deal between Sky and the German outfit.

It would make sense to have more England/Germany type ring battles.

Unless Braehmer is fighting Cleverly next, having this rubbish show on Sky makes very little sense.

This is part of Eddie's new blockbuster deal with Sky, where we now get to see crap fights from Germany as well as UK.

He is!

Hearn said on Ringside it was basically a done deal, which was kind of awkward for Enzo who was also in the studio

Braehmer-Cleverly is a fascinating fight,I've never seen Juergen fight anyone at Nathan's level so I'd expect Clev to push him harder than I've seen before

Both are probably underated due to the opposition they've faced but their both good fighters who know how to win,I just. wish Braehmer would step up,I was gutted how the Maccarinelli fight went as Enzo would have pushed him

I'd be surprised if Krasniqi wins a single round tonight

It was fraustrating that Enzo got injured so early in the fight I think he could have tested Braemher.

Even more fraustrating is Braemhers lack of decent opposition.

Fair play to Krasniqi, completely outclassed by Clevereley last time he was at the top table, he's got another chance. Surely the same outcome awaits.

Krasniqi needs to keep this on the inside to have a chance he would need to floor Braehmer now.

Krasniqi is just so limited and it's just too easy for Braemher hurting him with these counters.

braehmer is at least solid European level/top 10 kovalev, Stevenson , pascal would beat him comfortably though.
