Backed Braehmer twice in play there for the stoppage. After round 3 @ 23/20 then 13/8 after the 6th.

Wouldn't blame him when the headliner is Braehmer v Krasniqi.

Thought Yigit looked pretty good though. Could do with more of a punch, but a nice smooth flowing boxer.

Braehmer beats yet another mediocre challenger? Shocking!

It would be great to see him face a top opponent next, but based on his usual foes it'll more likely be someone like Igor Mikhalkin or Doudou Ngumbu.

I thought it was a good performance from Braehmer. I'd take him to be too smart for Cleverly.

Braehmer v Clev would be a good fight but 18months ago Clev was banging on about struggling to make light heavy.

When he fought at cruiser he looked in awesome shape where as Bellew was the opposite.

To lose 25lbs again just doesn't seem safe.

It'll be interesting to see how it works out for him. He looked bulked up (and too muscled) to get to cruiserweight. I think he was grasping at straws after the kovalev defeat affected him. It may be a case that he's at his best around 180, which would be unfortunate. he's bloody lucky to be even mentioned for a shot at braehmer given his showing against bellew.

I hope kovalev hasn't ruined him, he's good to watch and was progressing very nicely before that. Good luck to him. It'll be interesting to see who he gets in may and how he performs...

Surprisingly good fight last night, not the Braehmer whitewash I expected

Krasniqi was pretty impressive but power was clearly the key and he just couldn't deal with Juergen's left crosses and the right hook that got him the count was a peach, there were at least 3 rounds I had Robin winning until the last 30 seconds where he ended up visibly hurt, but Krasniqi can hold his head up high,he put up more of a fight here than he did against Cleverly

Braehmer was at his eccentric best, looking the part one minute then taking continuous right hands the next but he can fight when on the ball and him and Nathan's a great match up for him

Cleverly is a lot more credible than Braehmer's other world title defences.

Cleverly was clearly injured against Bellew.

Cleverly to get a shot at Braehmer next is proof once again, it's who you know. I think he'd probably get stopped by a more determined Braehmer in Germany. Cleverly is just looking for a couple of pay-days before he calls it a day IMO.

Krasniqi just didn't have the power to stop Braemer last night, he seems to slap his punches and doesn't turn them over, reminded me of how Calzaghe used to punch in parts(obviously nowhere near as talented). He gave it a decent effort though. I enjoyed the fight.

The Yigit fight was a good showcase for the Swedish lads talent. Pretty much battered the one paced Schwarzkopf. One to watch.

What was a bit crap was how Sky cut out half the rounds though. Why not just show the whole card live? And Cleverly as a pundit was cringe-worthy.

Did anyone get a full house on Jim Watt Bingo? haha Bang on the chen!

Cleverly deserves a world title shot much more than the likes of Krasniqi.

I don't see why people have a problem with him getting a world title shot. If he hadn't moved up to cruiserweight he'd probably still be a top 10 ranked light heavyweight.

No one put a gun to Nathan's head and forced a move to cruiserweight, he decided it'd be better for him after losing to Kovalev. Braehmer would be too much for him, he is pretty overlooked but knows how to fight. Enzo Mac v Cleverly would be a good fight.

A prime Cleverly would beat Braehmer.

Braehmer is overlooked because he fights chumps and he gives no one a reason to look at him.

Prime Cleverley is long gone.

Braehmer has beaten top class boxers as an amateur and gets well paid regardless who he boxes - the English system?

Yes, where a champion defends his title at home against unchallenging opposition for decent money.

As 'systems' go I'd say that's pretty fookin universal. It just looked to me like you were describing generic boxing promotion, no particularistic reduction necessary.

Why is Braehmer overlooked palooka? Aside from continually fighting mediocre opposition and showing little ambition to face top opponents, he went life and death with someone who was utterly destroyed by Adonis Stevenson and lost nearly every round to Kovalev victim Cornelius White; he struggled with solid but not world class LHW Eduard Gutenechkt, who was fortunate to get a decision in his previous fight against unheralded 17-5-2 Tony Averlant; and he's looked lackluster against many third-tier light heavyweights. I haven't seen the Krasniqi fight yet, but to keep perspective Clev outclassed the latter and won every round on two cards and all but one on another while hardly breaking a sweat; Krasniqi is a third-tier LHW at best to me and dominating him isn't particularly impressive.

In my view Braehmer is significantly below the likes of Stevenson and Kovalev and I think several other LHWs would beat him. He should consider himself fortunate to have been very well promoted and able to fight for major titles while continually being fed streams of mediocre opponents. He's been a pro for 15 years and fought nearly 50 times during that stretch, but when was the last time he faced someone who was generally considered one of the ten best fighters in the division or was ever generally considered a top ten LHW? Maybe 7 years and 16 bouts ago when he was clearly beaten by Hugo Hernan Garay, who had a much tougher time with and lost his WBA title to Gabriel Campillo in his next fight? Has he ever beaten a consensus top ten LHW? Not in my opinion....

Cleverly has lost 2 out of his last 4 and the last defeat and his last fight, being a terrible performance. His last world title fight was a demolition job by Kovalev. Cleverly just isnt at world level.

Still better than the typical Braehmer challenger. Who is the best fighter Braehmer defeated professionally?

I agree but I think most of us agree that Nathan is getting a title shot because of the Matchroom-Sauerland connection. Braehmer will batter him anyway. Cleverly was never a legit champion and to think he could be, with Stevenson and Kovalev up there right now, is just pie in the sky. Cash in while you've got a decent hand.

Probably Maccarinelli?

I hadn't seen Braehmer box until after he was stripped off the WBO before the Cleverly pull out but I like him,his CV is ridiculously padded and that's what frustrates me about him(and boxing)

Him and Hopkins would have interesting to see how he fared at Bernard's level, surely it would be a Hopkins domination especially at the time Juergen was champ

If Stevenson and Kovalev can't get it on yet then I'd like to see either man in with Braehmer, never gonna happen so Cleverly's the next best thing
