Most impressive cold KO
Most impressive cold KO
Not in terms of the highlight reel quality of the punch, but in terms of the guy getting KO'd.
Whats the most impressive occasion of a fighter sparking cold a guy who was otherwise considered iron chinned?
The three that come to mind are:
Robinson/Fulmer
Foster/Tiger
Hearns/Duran (although Duran was a smaller guy)

I never thought anybody would be able to one-shot Paul Williams the way Martinez did in their rematch.

Great shout mate. I love the expression on Nunn's face as he's throwing that punch.palooka wrote:Michael Nunn v Sumbo Kalambay.
Yes, don't remember seeing Williams hurt in any of his fights.RadioElRadar wrote:I never thought anybody would be able to one-shot Paul Williams the way Martinez did in their rematch.

......although it wasn't in the first rounds, surely sugar ray robinson's left hook kayo of gene fuller...who had an iron chin....is among the greatest ever..
Re: Most impressive cold KO
Tall Paul Williams was not exactly an iron-clad and chinned warrior by reputation, he was rightly renowned for some other great qualities, but he'd never been stopped (Paul usually did the stopping and often early) and he got absolutely bingo-ed by Martinez in that second fight. Nobody saw that one coming. Calzaghe v Eubank does not count of course...Chris made the bell...but nobody had previously upended Eubank like that because the guy had one feck of a chin.
Re: Most impressive cold KO
Marquez-Pacquiao for me on the basis of the quality of fighter that got ko'd. Hearns-Duran would qualify too but Hearns had huge physical and size advantages over RD that JMM never had over MP.
Re: Most impressive cold KO
....not quite sure what a cold ko means here....but if it is one that comes from nowhere i've got to list ......with great pain.....walcott's left hook to ezzard in fight III ....
Re: Most impressive cold KO
