After pacquiao vs mayweather what other fight out there is worthy of a ppv title?

When you asked, did you mean ever, or did you just mean of the fights that are currently scheduled?thechump wrote:Was thinkin the same, this will probably be the last one i buyILikeBeer wrote:Worthy of it?thechump wrote:After pacquiao vs mayweather what other fight out there is worthy of a ppv title?
None.
There might be some fights that I'd pay for if they were made, Carl Froch vs GGG, for example. But of the ones that are currently scheduled, none are worthy.
Re: what other ppv
There could be potentially quite a few..... I'd still like to see Cotto vs GGG.
Re: what other ppv
I meant with potential fights i.e fury vs joshua, quigg vs frampton, froch vs ggg etc
Re: what other ppv
I think this would be a mismatch myself, ggg is way too strong for cotto, cotto needs to move back down to 154 or even 147 he is too small for 160 imostujones wrote:There could be potentially quite a few..... I'd still like to see Cotto vs GGG.
Re: what other ppv
Yes thechamp, logic would suggest a mismatch. However, GGG still hasn't IMO faced a truly elite fighter which I think Cotto still is.... and Pacquiao aside, Cotto has never taken a one sided systematic beating from anyone and he has fought some of the best around at 147/154.... the appeal to me would be the curiosity factor.... is GGG that good he can give someone of Cotto's pedigree the beating he's given the likes of Macklin, Geale and Murray. Can someone of Cotto's ring savvy and experience and technical brilliance be able to outbox GGG.... I have my great doubts also but at the same time I think beating someone like Cotto (and the manner of the victory) will tell us a bit more about GGG's pedigree as a thinking fighter as opposed to just someone with a cast iron chin and fists of lead.
Personally, I would like to see GGG in with someone of excellent pedigree before the potential tasty fights 50:50 fights with the likes of Ward and FMJ. I think if Ward beats GGG in the summer without GGG fighting someone like Cotto first there might be some critics who might call GGG "another Jeff Lacy". Plus, whilst GGG is the man at Middleweight, Cotto is the lineal "man" - so I think this fight is a necessity for that reason for GGG.
Pedigree wise, I think Cotto fits the criteria more so than someone like JCC or Carl Froch (sorry Froch fans), whilst JCC and Froch have size to possibly GGG more trouble than Cotto, I think Cotto's pedigree make it a more meaningful fight for someone who is trying to get into the mega bucks territory.

Well, I think it's safe to say, that Fury vs Joshua is not a pay-per-view worthy fight.thechump wrote:I meant with potential fights i.e fury vs joshua, quigg vs frampton, froch vs ggg etc

Not yet, but it definitely could be.ILikeBeer wrote:Well, I think it's safe to say, that Fury vs Joshua is not a pay-per-view worthy fight.thechump wrote:I meant with potential fights i.e fury vs joshua, quigg vs frampton, froch vs ggg etc
I'd pay to see Stevenson V Kovalev or Brook V Khan.
Re: what other ppv
No other fight's happening overseas are PPV worthy over here at all, we've had plenty of big fights we didn't pay extra for (Pac-JMM1-4, FMJ-Cotto, FMJ-Canelo) so no way is GGG-Cotto/Ward or Kovalev-Stevenson PPV worthy over here.
It looks as though were gonna be paying out enough this summer as it is, FMJ-Pac, probably Mitchell/Selby, Brook in a big fight, Froch-Hopkins/Ward and Frampton-Quigg That's potentially 5 PPV's just for the summer!!!
