Jordan Shimmell 18-0 with 15 KOs, world rated cruiserweight
Re: Jordan Shimmell 18-0 with 15 KOs, world rated cruiserwei
Contender Dorticos for bouts #10-15 fought 15-10, 30-10-1, 16-10, 16-9, 14-12-3 & 10-3 guys.
Re: Jordan Shimmell 18-0 with 15 KOs, world rated cruiserwei
When someone disagrees with you it doesn't mean they have a problem with you. As you try to spin numbers in favor of your argument, I look deeper into them and see the actual fighters attached to these numbers and the argument loses a lot of credibility.
Re: Jordan Shimmell 18-0 with 15 KOs, world rated cruiserwei
walter5 I pointed out the flaws in your arguments. Jordan has faced similar or better competition than many of the other top cruiserweights.

exactly win percentage has nothing to do with level of competition and is usually a straw man argument some proposes if they have nothing logical to back there claims upDennis wrote:walter5 I pointed out the flaws in your arguments. eg if win percentage is a measure of competition than 2 fight novice Brad Johnson ,Jordan fought is a better win than Huck, Drozd,Ledadev etc. It makes no sense

I don't think anyone is suggesting win % is a law or rule or anything like that with the quality of opposition. Its a telling & easily found number that usually gives a good idea of the story of a particular fighter. Sure there are anomalies. There are anomalies everywhere in everything. There are probably two snowflakes that look alike somewhere, but scientists are lazy bitches. USUALLY THOUGH....tflanagan5 wrote:exactly win percentage has nothing to do with level of competition and is usually a straw man argument some proposes if they have nothing logical to back there claims upDennis wrote:walter5 I pointed out the flaws in your arguments. Jordan's 10th fight was against Byron Polley. Prior to the fight Polley had fought and lost to Ustinov (his 15th) and Fedosov (his 24th). After fighting Jordan, Polley lost to Czar Glazkov (his 16th) and Consuegra (his 16th).
Jordan's 11th fight was against Matthew Greer. Prior to the fight Greer had fought and lost to Kevin Johnson (his 22nd), James Toney (his 81st), Boytsov (his 29th), Deontay Wilder (his 27th), and Andy Ruiz Jr (his 18th). After fighting Jordan, Greer lost to Hughie Fury (his 13th).
Jordan's 12th fight was against Galen Brown. Brown had fought Fedosov (his 21st), Mariusz Wach (his 23rd), and Hasim Rahman (his 59th). After fighting Jordan, Brown lost to Phil Williams by TKO-2. Jordan just fought Phil Williams and won by TKO-5.
Jordan's 13th fight was against Damon Reed. Reed had fought Brian Nielsen (his 34th), Herbie Hide (his 31st), Hasim Rahman (his 57th), James Toney (his 82nd), and Deontay Wilder (his 17th).
Jordan's 14th fight was against Damon McCreary, 15-1, who's only loss at the time was to Deontay Wilder in Wilder's 25th bout.
If these boxers were good enough to fight former world champions, top heavyweight contenders with more experience than Jordan and Wilder who is now the WBC world heavyweight champ, I think they were just fine as opponents for Jordan that early in his career.
Jordan's 15th fight was a fight where over 25 boxers turned down the fight against Jordan some doing so after initially accepting and then backing out. It came down to needing an opponent or the fight was off. Corn accepted the fight and Jordan took care of business quickly.

Re: Jordan Shimmell 18-0 with 15 KOs, world rated cruiserwei
Hands down Jordan is one of the top crusierweights around I know first hand not very often maybe a handful of times in my career was I 100% ready for a fight with Jordan I was he was not great at any one thing but was good at everything that is what makes a complete fighter believe me when I tell you he is a lot better then people on here give him credit for not that I am some world beater but in shape and prepared I will give the top guys in the world problems I just know that I am not gonna be a world champion and have 3 kids and a wife so I have to make as much money in boxing that I can, so I take a lot of short notice stupid fights but I am cool with that anyone I have been in the ring with I respect and if they win I can tell you there strong points and weak points with Jordan he was good enough that I didn't see and weak points besides he could have put a little more pressure on me but if he would have there is a possibility he would have got caught so why would he. On his strong points it was he adapted I tried everything to get him to get mad or just upset and he did not, I will not be surprised to see him as a world champion I would put him in against the last guy I fought who was ranked number 6 and I believe Jordan wins easily. Again it is just my opinion and what does a guy that gets beat up for a living really know lol
Re: Jordan Shimmell 18-0 with 15 KOs, world rated cruiserwei
I value Galen Brown's critique more than others as it comes from someone who was in the ring with Jordan and also many other top cruiserweights and heavyweights.

Working on Jordan's next fight and hopefully it is on TV.
Re: Jordan Shimmell 18-0 with 15 KOs, world rated cruiserwei
Jordan is currently in training camp with WBC world light heavy champ Adonis Stevenson.

It's the 4th training camp for Adonis that Jordan has helped out with.tiny_acres wrote:Should be some good experience for himDennis wrote:Jordan is currently in training camp with WBC world light heavy champ Adonis Stevenson.

Every training camp is beneficial and Jordan improves. Being able to spar orthodox and southpaw makes Jordan versatile.

Here is a photo of Jordan from his last fight.

As I said previously, it would be very possible to bring the cruiserweight champs to the USA to fight on the PBC series on one of its TV networks. In June Marco Huck will fight Glowacki on PBC on Spike TV.

This is a good first sign that PBC will be "playing nice" with others cuz afaik Huck isn't signed under the Haymon advisor umbrella & unlike some other non-Haymon fighters on PBC cards there isn't the argument he's just being fed to a Haymon fighter as he's the abc belt holder + should be favored to win (Idk much about his opponent tbf).
Re: Jordan Shimmell 18-0 with 15 KOs, world rated cruiserweight
I don't believe Huck or Glowacki were signed with Haymon unless it happened recently.

Is he Jewish? I date a girl in my youth. Last name Shimmell
Re: Jordan Shimmell 18-0 with 15 KOs, world rated cruiserweight
I believe Huck is a free agent now after his contract run out recently, so maybe Al will sign him up for an eventual in house fight with Jordan.ReggieDiggs wrote:Nice.Dennis wrote:As I said previously, it would be very possible to bring the cruiserweight champs to the USA to fight on the PBC series on one of its TV networks.
