You know your on a licensed premises, because there is a little pint pot symbol on the screen.
They have investigation teams combing pubs and looking for the symbol, which appears at certain times on certain broadcasts - and then they hit them with a £5,000 fine (per event they have shown) , if they do not hold the specific licence for the event.
maybe its the kind of pubs i have seen ppv in but there's always been a bit of an edge to the atmosphere, like permanently on the verge of kicking off. This was the one problem I didn't encounter. I was in a pub full of blokes watching boxing, and you could barely move let alone walk to the bar. Unless they're charging $25 for a drink, I'd say the $99 deal wasn't worth it.
I once stopped in a pub, the same one that I mentioned above, at 9:30am to watch a rugby match. I purchased one of the nicest bacon rolls I've ever had. Weirdly, it had onions in, but tasted nice. I ordered another. Got a few pints in, watched the British Lions.
