Broner v Khan
According to all sources, this is the fight Khan is settling on.
Have to say that i'm thoroughly underwhelmed by the prospect of this one, especially if it's at 147lb. Broner looked poor against Malignaggi & Maidana, i can't see him looking any different against Khan. Waste of a fight for Khan in my opinion as he's got nothing to win and a fair bit to lose.

Re: Broner v Khan
Is Broner considered as a bit of a broken fighter now, or did Maidana (?) Just highlight that he wasn't as good as he tried to convey?
Khan's a consumate athlete and I'd have backed him over an erratic character like Broner all day.

I'd say he has plenty to gain. Last fighter who beat Broner got himself a shot at Mayweather.

But as Magwitch said, such was the way he lost that he would now be considered broken rather than as a fantastic win.

Rubbish fight. Khan is wasting his career.

Harsh. I think it's a good fight. Would have preferred Brook though.Horse wrote:Rubbish fight. Khan is wasting his career.
Re: Broner v Khan
its going be fun build up anyway , Broner is still a quality operator but like mentioned against Mallanaggi and Maidana he looked very laboured but then look at what Maidana put mayweather through in his fight straight after Broner.
Khan should be able to do what he done against Alexander but if he is still a bit chinny then Broner has the speed to catch him.
if i was betting though id say i wide khan points win.

I dispute this; especially foot speed. That's Broner's weakness; he has a very wide stance, isn't that mobile and holds his feet.
I think it's a great fight for Khan who has just about every advantage bar chin.

Personally I'd prefer to see Broner in with Wlad
But I guess Khan will have to do.

Re: Broner v Khan
yea he hasnt really shown much foot speed as he was walking through everyone coming up the weights till he hit Welter , i was thinking more his counter punches , fast single shots
Khan should be able to deal with him though based on boths recent performances , i just feel like broner is always boxing within himself because he found it so easy in his rise up the weights but maybe thats all well ever get from him.

battle of the shittalkers. i think this is a fairly even fight. neither guy can be described as fully fledged welters, both are wildly overrated, and both have major flaws. dunno how much khan will make for this fight , but its got to be less than with brook. broner has enough in his armory to ko khan. its a shame that one of these is gonna win the fight

Khan's filled out to a fully fledged welter IMO. He turned pro at 18 - I'd say he's grown since then. He now comes into the ring at a ripped 160lbs. There was a time when someone such as this would have been considered a big welterweight.....
Re: Broner v Khan
i was talking about having good wins against genuine welters. then again , the division is full of ex lightweights and lww's.
i would like to see how broner and khan would fare against big, career~ welterweights. like porter, thurman and brook.

Re: Broner v Khan
It's a good match up and Khan will look fantastic v Broner's shoulder roll. When's it on? I'm looking forward to it now.
Re: Broner v Khan
Khan has already beaten two fighters that beat Broner: Maidana and Malignaggi.mullenman wrote:Great fight.
Nothing great about this fight whatsoever. Khan is at least one level above Broner. Broner should stay down at light welterweight where he might have a chance at being successful.
It is a crap fight. Why should I be positive about it?mullenman wrote:to many negative clowns on this forum now..
Alexander would probably whoop Broner, it's a step down. Broner is a hypejob.
No, he doesn't. It's time he stopped messing about and fought someone on his level again.mullenman wrote:give khan a break as he always fights the best

It's just my opinion, I like to watch fast, clean hitters - we've got Floyd v Manny and Lucas v Provodnikov and I'll look forward to this as well. It doesn't look much fun with the near constant negativity.Horse wrote:No.palooka wrote:It's a good match up and Khan will look fantastic v Broner's shoulder roll. When's it on? You have to give him credit for the Alexander win mate. Sure Alexander was poor but no-one has outclassed Alexander like that; including Bradley and Porter.
Alexander has a lot of very useful wins under his belt and did hold the IBF Belt that Brook now owns. I would also prefer Khan vs Brook but I think sometimes people like to discredit Khan the boxer because they dislike Khan as a person. I've stated in another thread a majority of people here thought Khan would lose against Collazo. He beats him handily and now people dismiss that win saying Collazo was no good anyway. I'll be the first to admit Khan is a daft so and so and says some silly things but you gotta give him some credit.
Re: Broner v Khan
I actually like the idea of Khan Broner. I would back Khan for a wide points decision but obviously he's always going to be vulnerable so Broner will go in confident of catching him. Would much rather see Khan v Brook. Looks as though Brook will be fighting Marquez. Maybe later in the year if they both keep winning.
Re: Broner v Khan
Well said, Panther and another aspect is that Khan has been in the boxing fans face for a decade and many are bored and want the excitement of a new man to shout for.
Re: Broner v Khan
I want to be positive, but Hearn and Haymon are ruining boxing.palooka wrote:It's just my opinion, I like to watch fast, clean hitters - we've got Floyd v Manny and Lucas v Provodnikov and I'll look forward to this as well. It doesn't look much fun with the near constant negativity.
Broner is perhaps the biggest hypejob in boxing history, and he is about to waste even more of Khan's prime by being yet another overmatched opponent losing via one-sided domination.

The bottom line is that any fight that has the possibility of finishing with Broner getting a beat down is worth watching.
Not sure Amir can Ko him, but he can definitely hand him a hiding.
