Can't believe people's negativity on here. There's worse fights than this we've all got behind.

Brook vs Jojo Dan
Re: Broner v Khan
I love the idea of this fight - can't believe people can't see it
Broner v Maidana was one of my fave fights - loved seeing him get his arse whipped
I suppose if you dislike both, its hard to want a winner

Re: Broner v Khan
Someone pointed out above that Maidana gave Mayweather a bit of a torrid time. There's a bit of a tendency because of Mayweather's brilliance to consider some others as not up to scratch. If Mayweather wasn't around, Maidana may be a genuine world champ, and Khan holds a tough, deserved win over him.
I would love to see either Khan or Brook face Broner - if they don't fight each other next. If Khan don't want it then Brook should go for his scalp, cos he's only really got Shawn Porter's so far. Two good punchers...I suspect Broner wouldn't want to come to Sheffield tho to fight in front of 18,000. I reckon his cockiness might desert him..

I'm excited about this fight,i think it will be a cracker,Broner is talented and tough but maybe not so much at welterweight, and Khan is showing improvement at the new weight and a loss for either would be a massive blow so there is a lot on the line, the only problem for me is which one do i want to lose the most

Re: Broner v Khan
At lower weights I rated Broner but he's not a WW. Khan wins easily, possibly by stoppage. Now if this was in a smaller division I'd be more interested.
Overall, given the backdrop of Khan v Brook, its not a great fight for Khan as he should be getting in with a bigger name and someone who is a proper WW. A fight against a guy who belongs at LW or LWW at most seems a bit too much of an easy option.

Rather than fight for a title, Khan might be happier fighting for less money against an ex-super-feather who hasn't stopped anyone above lightweight.jimcook wrote:i was talking about having good wins against genuine welters. then again , the division is full of ex lightweights and lww's.
i would like to see how broner and khan would fare against big, career~ welterweights. like porter, thurman and brook.

Re: Broner v Khan
I like this fight a lot,I think their styles will gel and if anyone wants to moan about the whole Broner getting beat from Maidana angle then the way I see it is if Khan wants to reject a world title fight against Brook then someone of Adrien's standing is all he deserves
Broner loves to fight at his own pace which is quite laid back where as Amir likes to set a high pace from the start and that's why I favour Khan in this fight,he'll just pour it on Broner and easily outwork him,in saying that Broner is quick enough to tag Khan when he's letting his flurries go but I think Amir stays smart and probably makes Broner look as puzzled as Alexander was

Re: Broner v Khan
I agree that Khan is the favourite here but wouldnt rule out an upset either. Its not mission impossible for Broner.
Re: Broner v Khan
It's not ideal but it's hardly a 'shit' fight is it!?
This forum really is full of extremes now, yes Khan should fight brook, yes it's the biggest fight out there but we all know how the game works and anyone who thinks that a man with khans resume is ducking brook I think is misguided.
I think Khan v brook is an even fight I really think either has a great case for winning the fight.
However to say Khan v broner is a 'shit' fight is just hating for the sake of it to be honest

Re: Broner v Khan
I don't think Khan's ducking Brook but I think he's worried about losing to a British fighter who's name carries less weight than his
What I can't understand is that it ticks all the boxes,he would get kudos from the US for beating Brook and he gets paid more than he would against anyone else and in front of the biggest attendance
But most importantly, he becomes a world champion, its a no brainer, even Americans rate Brook above Broner,Rios,Berto,Guerrero
Unless he fights Thurman, Bradley or Marquez I don't think he can justify turning down Brook

What has a fight between Khan and Broner got to do with Eddie Hearn? Eddie is at least trying to put Khan in with Brook, which everyone wants to see...Horse wrote:I want to be positive, but Hearn and Haymon are ruining boxing.
Re: Broner v Khan
It's a fight I would pay to see. While Broner might not be as good as he thinks, he is still a top line 3 weight world champion, at the top of his game.
Re: Broner v Khan
It's a good fight in that it should be fun to watch and the build up will be good. However it's a poor fight for Khan in that we'll learn nothing other than he's beat someone who someone he beat already beat! And beat well!

People saying Khan is wasting his carrer, hes boxed more world/elite level opponents than most British World Champions do in their whole carrers,

I think this is a top fight, khan gets a lot of stick but he's always fighting top US opposition. If Brooks first defence was against Broner would he be getting grief for it?

Brook has a lot less world level experience than Khan.Nightmare Roy wrote:I think this is a top fight, khan gets a lot of stick but he's always fighting top US opposition. If Brooks first defence was against Broner would he be getting grief for it?
Khan's got plenty of wins at this level or above. It is boring and a waste of his time. He needs to step up.
Re: Broner v Khan
It's Broner then?
I can't that that I'm too disappointed by it. I know that all the British fans wanted to see him fight Brook, but I still think that there's time enough for it to happen. And probably over the next 12-18 months (provided that Brook keeps defending his World Title), and with more defenses, he'll gain more recognition across the globe an a genuine World-class operator.
As for Broner, I'd still rate him as a great fighter. Sure he lost that fight against Maidana, but a single loss doesn't make you a bad fighter overnight. And since then, he's got back to winning ways and his ranked 6th in the Light Welterweight division. Broner is going to be a challenge for Khan, but one that I expect him to win.
And let's face it, I think that a lot of us were expecting him to take a stay-active fight against a minor opponent like David Avanesyan, Johan Perez or Silverio Ortiz. Someone who wouldn't prove too much of a threat against him.
