Is there an All Access or 24/7 for Mayweather Pacquiao?

Post by Emmseegee »

I was expecting there to have been something by now but haven't heard of anything ?

I know some people will say the fight doesn't need the build up etc but surely there should be something. :bag:

alright big Knackers , i saw another thread an apparently there is not one but just a few "specials" on each fighter

maybe thats why Floys and Manny are putting vids up on facebook everyday now and not keeping much for TV.

So what is the real reason there was no multi city press tour, very little publicity, few vids on the sho sports/hbo youtube channels? I don't buy the whole "this fight sells itself" rubbish. Surely the more publicity the better. Its very controlled and I wonder why. Something to do with Mayweather/Haymon no doubt. Even the posters all just say on PPV no Showtime or HBO. Its all a bit weird given the size of the fight.

I agree, I imagined that the 24/7 thing would really be going and to be honest I like to watch them. The bout is 4 weeks today, we've waited so long.

But dont worry Guys well have sky showing us the same Pacquio training Clips from ten year ago staying with his family behind the Wildcard for the next 4 weeks to get the appetite wet :TU:

The lack of promotion for what is said to be the biggest fight in the history of boxing is a little odd to say the least.

Maybe they plan to ramp it up soon saving it all for the last few weeks, perhaps the promotion will go off like fireworks any day now?

I don't know about things over in America or elsewhere in the world, but in Britain this fight does need some publicity. Its a big fight obviously and people know its been made etc, but I don't think loads of neutrals know exactly when it is, and whilst they know its a big fight things like 24/7 style programmes are needed to get this fully hyped and the 'casual' buying a PPV that's going to be shown in the early hours.

Yeah I agree. I'm sure sky will have a few things in the pipeline for fight week and perhaps the week before that. The undercard is pretty poor also. Disappointing!

If they don't promote this one much, the fight could tank in the UK - boxing isn't on most people's consciousness these days, and most of the casuals will not even really have noted the date of this - they are taking a huge risk if they think it will sell itself.

With no British interest, and little hype, few fights do big numbers on PPV in this country.

I've just looked at the undercard and it is shocking.

Yeah they've made a right James Blunt of the undercard! Doubt we'll see anyone decent added at this point either! I don't think there is anything of note happening over here on May 2nd so it's a long wait til daft o'clock in the morning for the main event!

They're going to lose out if they don't promote this further in the UK. I know it's different circumstances but they could learn a lot from the UFC's promotion of Aldo V McGregor. I prefer boxing to MMA but I have to admit, I'm looking forward to Aldo McGregor more than any other fight in combat sports at the moment, partly due to Conor's personality and partly because the promotion has been so good.

As far as Floyd V Manny goes, it really doesn't feel like the biggest fight in 20 years is just around the corner!
