My many fights to share!

I have finally invested in a VHS to DVD recorder. I am presently testing it out with Thomas Hearns v James Kinchen fight. I have over 2500 fights to sift through, many British fights from sports networks such as Fightnight, Probox ect ect So in time I will get you dsome good action up many fights that will not be on Youtube etc.

Ok, my next question is where is the best place to put fights? Is it youtube? or is there a bette rplace to get my fights onto the internet for you guys to watch and appreciate.

Sorry for not being much help but you may come into copyright issues on youtube which may get them removed.

I dont know much about what copyright issues you might have but I do know YouTube pay uploaders cash depending on the number of views a vido gets. If you have 2500 videos to share.........

If any copyright owner has an issue with someone uploading fights from yesteryear that are only of interest to anoraks, they should put the fights up themselves or STFU, especially if they're still involved with the fight game. Nobody likes a killjoy.

ive just looked on youtube and the hearn v Kinchen fight is on there. ill upload and see what happens. All my fights will be from the mid 80's to mid to late 90's

It's not always the owner of the fight, music and adverts can get fights pulled. I tried putting a Thai one up a while back and the advert on the footage got that taken off. Most fights will be fine but just noting that some may have problems :)

Indeed im only ripping from VHS at the moment, I was saying putting them up as in copyright, and seeing if any get taken down

There are no commercials as far as i know, I always watched the fights with my trigger finger on the pause button

That only applies to content that uploader owns. If it is fight footage and the copyright belongs to someone else you should not monetising the videos.

Older videos where the copyright owner is out of business, dead or just doesn't care, shouldn't cause any issues on YouTube, but still should not monetise them as the uploader does not own them and has no right to make money from them. Money from YouTube should only be generated on your OWN content, ie things you filmed and edited yourself.

Even when there is no issue with the copyright of a fight, you can still run into issues. As someone mentioned, adverts in the video can cause it to be removed, but a biggy to think about is ring entrances. Most boxers have music playing, but you don't own any rights or have the necessary licences needed to broadcast that music publicly. It can result in videos being blocked in some countries, advertising being added and the money being paid to the actual copyright owners, or the video being removed.

So could I get fined or anything if I uploaded fights that are more or less 20 years old or more? The fights I taped where from ITV, BBC, Screensport Eurosport TV1000 Sky sports etc etc, none really have ring walks etc only from round 1 to the end with the commericials (if from ITV Sky sports) removed as before i said i always paused the tape in these circumstances. I only taped the fight as I wanted to get as many on a tape as possible rather than have a fight and all the post fight interviews etc.

I will still upload fights if I dont ge ttaken to court, im not bothered if they get removed as thats the chance I take.

Im not doing this to make money, as I didnt know you made money from youtube, I only want to get some of the rarer ones up for people to watch.

All shows are owned or copyrighted by promoter and broadcaster, they can object and get them removed,
I put mine up as I own the rights to them,
