So I noticed that Chudinov - Sturm fight is for the WBA Regular Champion Belt. Does that mean that Froch finally got stripped of his last belt, and we can finally forget about him?

• On the 28th February, the WBA ordered a mandatory fight between Andre Ward and Carl Froch
• According to the WBA’s own statement, when the 30-day deadline for both parties to reach an agreement expires, which happened on the 30th March, the Froch-Ward contest will be opened to purse bids
• According to the WBA’s own website, they still consider Carl Froch as their WBA “regular” world champion and Fedor Chudinov is their “interim” titleholder
• Carl Froch has not announced that he’s vacated his WBA belt
• The WBA has not opened the Ward-Froch bout to purse bids
• According to the media, Team Ward and Team Froch are still negotiating the date, venue and purses for the fight
• BoxRec and Vladimir Hrunov (the promoter) both claim that winner of the Chudinov-Sturm fight will claim ownership of the vacant “regular” WBA title

• Based on the WBA’s own statement, the deadline date for the Froch-Ward bout to take place is the 28th June, which is 120 days after the WBA initially ordered the fight. Meanwhile, Fedor Chudinov & Felix Sturm are apparently fighting each other to capture this “vacant” title on the 9th May, which is 50 days before the specified deadline

Froch probably refused to go to purse bids because the fight with Ward wouldn't get him the money he wants. Plus on top of that he'd probably lose like he lost the first time. Just because Froch hasn't announced he vacated, doesn't mean he hasn't.

Does this really matter to you guys as fans? That's disappointing. The WBA 'regular' world title is total BS and we should just ignore it, at least until the WBA starts calling it something other than a world title. No one should be any more concerned with this belt than they are with the WBC Silver title, as they are essentially the same thing, except even the WBC showed a shred of pride/dignity in naming their 2nd-place trinket.

Well the WBA does have history of catering to Felix Sturm.
They stripped Taylor of his WBA middleweight belt for no reason other than giving Felix a chance to fight for it.
All these years later and a division higher the same thing appears to be happening to Froch.

WBA is the most corrupt of all ABC bodies. Shumenov was their super champion without fighting for a long time and certainly without fighting anybody decent. Now Braehmer holds the regular title without having to fight the super champion or anybody decent at all. Jacobs is not ordered to fight Golovkin or Eubank (or previously Chudinov). Chudinov brothers themselves got their belts in front of more deserving fighters ...
