I posted this on the British forum earlier today; it's a great piece, almost feels like the set up for a movie.

It would make a good movie. They live such different lives. It's so interesting where life takes you sometimes. Unfortunately for the Bulgarian he grew up where he did during a bad time but had he grown up say in America, he probably wouldn't have been a boxer. I knew Emil Jetchev who was the head of AIBA's R/J committee. He along with the Pakistani President of AIBA, Anwar Chowdhry, they were all cheating bastards. Too bad whoever came to Todorov with the contract didn't try again later. If he was a younger boxer today, he would turn pro and made some good money.

The guy didn't have Floyd's dedication to the sport. He wasn't preparing to Olympics seriously enough and was even drinking hard liquor during the camp.

In 1996, if he had a different attitude, he could have come to the U.S. or Germany and try himself in professional boxing.

lol that is not the look of the guy who'd expect to see being the last guy to beat a HOF fighter. Haven't read the article yet but look forward to reading it later. Good post :TU:

And its killing me the actor he looks like & can't pinpoint. I can't think of his name, but he's a character actor from like 80's/90's movies. Kinda like a Al Bundy's dad type mfer. Usually played a deadbeat, NYer kinda grumpy kinda criminal type character usually.

Just remembered cuz the Chazz reference refreshed my memory & what he's been in. Chazz & this guy were in Usual Suspects together :yay: Holy sh!t thats annoying when you got the face in your mind but can't come up with name or what he's done.

Anyway the guy I was thinking of is Dan Hedaya.

he's only 45. he could probably still come here and make a living beating club fighters
and coaching. it would be better than what he has going on in bulgaria, now
