Showtime showed Brook's fight live last Saturday and then put it on again at 11pm. Some on here try to claim that nobody knows Brook in USA.

After announcing it on his wife's account, Khan is now saying that the Algieri fight is not made:

Dan Rafael tweeted:

"FYI: It was Showtime that told me it turned down possible Khan-Algieri. It was IBF that told me Khan side turned down Bradley eliminator."

Khan does an awful lot of talking for someone that has an awful lot of options, seems to me like he wants to avoid the difficult ones - Brook, Bradley etc.

What the eff is going on? Khan confirms Algieri then denies a few days later? Ridiculous situation.

Maybe this is the kind of slap down team khan needed. He's not the superstar that they make him out to be and won't sell a fight on his name alone like mayweather, Pacquiao and even canelo did for a bit. However, he definitely adds value to a competitive fight.

He originally said that he was fighting Algieri because he had given his word.

He said last week that he would fight Brook within 12 months but I am a little Scooby Doobious.

I thought Showtime were Haymon's stooges (especially Espinoza) but looks like someone has put their foot down.

It's a fight nobody is interested in. Even his own loyal 'fans' who have venomously attacked Brook, all feel a bit embarrassed and have fell silent.

Amir is a losing face saying "I've already given my word to another fighter" - to a complete nobody. That's a new excuse in my book.

He'd rather keep his 'word' than give boxing fans what they want. Like anything that tumbles out of his mouth has any value at all ?

People say that he's after the big money against Floyd, but he's said himself the money is bad.

Surely settling a fight that your entire country wants to see ranks up there, especially in front of 60k+ at Wembley and a lot of money?

But after keeping his word to another fighter he's now saying that that fight is not made. Lack of tv money?

"The IBF Championships Chairman confirmed that Khan had indeed been offered the fight with Bradley and that it had been rejected on his behalf by his team. “Amir Khan’s people turned down the fight. Bradley accepted,” Tucker told BS."

So he's turned down both Brook and Bradley. Its getting embarassing for him now!

People pointed out that Khan Algieri is more recognisable to sports fans in the US than Khan Brook.

That's still the case.

Algieri is tough enough with bags of heart but he is a B level fighter at best. We all know how the fight is going to go. Would be quite funny if Algieri managed an upset though.

How is it embarrassing? I don't understand your logic.
Khan is a free agent and would get ten times the deal agreeing to fight Bradley by signing for Top Rank rather than going through an IBF eliminator and getting a 50-50 split and being told where and when he has to fight.

And if he wins the IBF eliminator, he faces Brook getting 20 per cent of the purse. Where is the upside of that?

Anyway, it is clearly Haymon making these decisions. He won't work with Arum and wants to keep Khan on ice until he sees how Mayweather-Pacquiao plays out.

Haymon won't work with Arum, what's the mystery in that?

Haymon wants to have total control of boxing. He tells Khan he might get Mayweather, maybe he will, maybe Mayweather quits and he puts on some big elimination tournament with only his own fighters that is billed as the new superstar of boxing. Whichever way it works, Haymon wants Khan to have an easy fight and let the dust settle

Khan's decision to fight Algieri isn't a good one. Not surprised ShowTime have turned it down. It's got dross UD for Khan all over.

And if he stops him? Who really cares.

He should fight Brook.

Who promotes Pacquiao? There, i've thought about it for you.

You have a point about Haymon/Khan playing the waiting game, but really, how long can Khan continue to put his career on hold, he's been bangung on about Mayweather for so long now and he has been cherry picking his oponents since the time he got splattered by Garcia almost 3 years ago. Now he'got networks turning down his choice of opoenents FFS!

Khan is starting to look like a bit of a joke. He could have put pressure on his promoter to make a Bradley or Brook fight happen - the money on offer is clearly good no matter what percentage you look at. Khan-Bradley is big in USA and worldwide, Khan-Brook is massive in UK and decent enough for US I'm sure they'd televise it readily.

Mayweather-Paquiao got made in spite of Haymon rather than because of him.
Khan signed with Haymon because he got promised Mayweather. He is now in that position where does he hold on for another six months in the hope it happens next, or go somewhere else and risk missing out. On the back of last year he's in a pretty good position. But as Brook and Hearn are given an opportunity by Sky on every Fight Night and every RIngside to say that Khan is running away, that is what many believe.
Compare Khan's position to Danny Garcia, who lost a year after beating Matthysse. What's he waiting for? Lamont Peterson is hardly a step up seeing as what Matthysse did to him.

You throw around words like "a joke" but what you said makes no sense.

Brook is chasing Khan. Bradley-Khan could be made by Top Rank with a huge deal in Khan's favour if Khan signs with Top Rank, it does not need an IBF purse bid, which gives Khan no say over where or when it happens (he doesn't want to fight after the start of Ramadan). Also, why would Khan want to be IBF mandatory, which would give him only 20 per cent of the purse in a Brook fight, when he has already been offered 50 per cent.
