The Fight Card Summary

Post by Fist of Legend »

its come to my attention that some of you see the fight card summary post that I usually put up at the beginning of the fight threads as a sort of spoiler to the fights themselves. should I stop putting them up? I'd like to hear the opinion of all managers.

During the seasons I was commish, I put it to a vote, and they voted yay for this process.

But, I always thought they would be better placed at the end of the thread. Just for those who didn't want it to be spoiled.

I'm glad simworld has cleaned up it's act and appointed suitable commissioners...it must have been like the 50s when GBP was in charge.

Is rather they weren't there. But I can just do what I do now and skip the first bit.

To be honest, I don't pay much attention to them. When I'm working on the Weekly Results Thread, I always tend to check the official announcement at the end of the fight before typing in the results.

I (fanatic that I am) too recognise that these "spoilers" (for want of a better word) can be a downer for people, and I can see why people want them to be moved to the bottom of the fights' thread.

However, I'm sure that that we wall have been in a rush before and all's we need is a quick glance at our results because we don't have the time at that moment. But we come back later when we do have the time and comment on the results or the following weeks matchups.

I can see both sides of the argument and I'm not too bothered either way.

I wrote it about in my NY times best seller.

As I recall, I stepped in heroically, and presided over the golden age of sim boxing. Corruption was stamped out, championship performances were at an all time high, profits soared, and the sim world was an example of peace and prosperity. The likes of which were never seen before...and not likely to be seen again.

They are helpful if you don't want to read the whole thread and just check the winners. With my fighters, I usually just try to skip it and read their fights in full.

Perhaps you could put the fights on that thread in top, then the fights/winners on the bottom? Not sure if that is too much of a bother. I just figure managers can know if their fighters are in that thread. If not and they don't care to see the results, they can skip to the bottom for the winners.
