For anyone that hasn't seen yesterdays Steve Bunces Boxing Hour, the show is running a competition to choose the best dream fights of all-time. "The only rule is that at least one of the fighters has to be retired or dead" (surely retired would have sufficed ). Nice touch from Buncey mentioning Gary Jakymelon in relation to an all time dream fight against Errol Christie. I never actually saw Jakymelon box, but he and Christie were very big names in the juniors when I started boxing. Out of a possible 9 national titles, each had won 8 with Christie going on to do a clean sweep, whilst Jakymelon lost in his ninth title bid.

He seemed to fall off the radar after that. I didn't know he had passed away last year either.

I've only been thinking about, and here are my top 10, in no particular order:

Nigel Benn vs Tommy Hearns (at Super Middleweight)
I thin that would be a brutal gun show. Could be one of the most entertaining fights in history!

Barry McGuigan vs Azumah Nelson (at Featherweight)
Why they never fought remains a mystery. But just imagine a young McGuigan hungry and in his prime against the great Nelson. It would be a helluva show, I reckon.

David Haye vs Evander Holyfield (at Cruiserweight)
Holyfield's the greatest Cruiser of all time. But did he ever meet anyone as fast and explosive at that weight, I'm wouldn't be too sure about it.

Henry Cooper vs Jerry Quarry (at Heavyweight)
Henry's a fans' favourite. Wasn't Quarry voted the greatest Heavyweight never to win a World Title? Our Henry could be a handfulfor him.

Naseem Hamed vs Salvador Sanchez (at Featherweight)
Sanchez died in his prime and he'll always be remembered as one of the all-time great Featherweights. But people forget just how special The Prince. This is a fight that I would pay big money to see.

Lennox Lewis vs Larry Holmes (at Heavyweight)
In my estimation they have quite similar styles. They both have fantastic jabs, I can see this bout being fought cautiously, it could go all the way. And it would be a real chess battle to watch.

Ricky Hatton vs Miguel Cotto (at Light Welterweight)
Hatton's punching vs Cotto's boxing, a good match up.

Amir Khan vs Arturo Gatti (at Light Welterweight)
Khan is quick and he's clever, Gatti has the heart of a lion - could he catach up with Amir and close the space down?

Carl Froch vs Sugar Ray Leonard (at Super Middleweight)
Ray didn't stay long in the division, and even tough he's a masterful boxer, can you imagine the relentless juggernaut that Froch is coming at him, could be a great spectacle.

Steve Collins vs Roy Jones Jr (at Super Middleweight)
Steve in his prime refused to bow before any man (not Benn nor Eubank) how would he have fared against the legend that was RJJ?
