Speaking on Khan's behalf, (for a change) Khan claims that the IBF had never contacted him about a possible title eliminator fight with Bradley, and said he would take that fight in a heartbeat. Anyone heard the same thing? Much better fight than CA or Broner, and as good as Brook I think.

Why would Khan want to fight Chris Algieri?

To answer your question quite simply; because he's a chicken-sh*t DUCK afraid to face a real puncher like Brook since he knows that Kell would break that china chin he has.

Algieri is a tough competitor, Provodnikov deserved the decision v Bradley and is a hell of a scrapper, he could also have taken the easy way out v Manny; it shows some balls to get up off the canvas 6 times and see the bout out. Khan would beat Brook, he'd beat Bradley and Algieri as well.

Because Khan knows Algieri has no ko power and he would win easily on points or if he stops CA he'll tell every-one that listens Pac couldn't do it
so i'v earned MY shot at Pac.

How about Shawn Porter for Khan's next fight? Definitely a better challenge than Algieri, is a former welter champ, and I don't believe he has an opponent lined up.

Although having said hay wouldn't it be funny to see Chris cause the upset
As shown by Michael Gomez a former British champion at a Super-Featherweight. Willie Limond now British Light-Welterweight who I don't even think has 10 KOs in a 40 fight+ pro career. Then that 54 second demolition job by Bredis Prescott, who later got taken apart by Kevin Mitchell. Plus there is the Danny Garcia KO loss as well. So he has got that vulnerability there.

Yep, I am going to jump on the bandwagon and say Khan is full of horse manure for this.

But, at least I get it. He is clearly doing the same as Cotto.

Taking a stay busy fight that, while not a real threat for a loss, gives him an opportunity to get some work in and stay sharp.

I don't dig it, but I understand it.

And it is bad, but not as bad as if you fight an Algieri while being acknowledged as #1 or #1A in the division a class heavier than said Algieri.

I hope the same folks who saw nothing wrong with Chris's last fight see nothing wrong with this one...

Khan seeking out a 140 lber to fight proves he lacks confidence, plain and simple. Its not like there aren't ANY opponents equal or better than CA at his own weight. He tells AB he can't make 145 even. Whatever.

Khan deserves all the backlash he is getting.

LOL.

There are other things at play than just confidence & fear in the sport of boxing. I know some cats here only have a rudimentary take on fighting that covers after school "rumbles" & that sorta thing, but this is boxing & its a sport & a business.

There are dozens of decisions that go into making or not making fights that are far more complicated than confidence & fear as some regs here love to suggest. I know its fun to diss a guy for being "scared" & all that sorta sh!t, but when you get a deeper understanding of the sport & the business aspect of things you'll realize its not that simple.

And I say all this as a non-Amir fan, a person who's been highly critical of him about various things & a person who believe he's one of the dumbest mfers in the sport (like lil box of rocks in his head where his brain should be dumb), although I do enjoy his fights when he fights against his own talents which can make for some dramatic & entertaining moments.

Plain & simple Khan is p*ssy,he won't fight Brook no matter how much money that they offer,He would make a excuse to fight anyone who hits harder than him.

If Khan is a pussy for fighting Algieri then so is the guy who fought Chris his last fight.

The truth is, for whatever reason, Algieri is considered a name.

I am not saying this is right, I am just saying it is understandable for a guy trying to A) stay sharp and B) in no way endanger a fall big money fight.

Even if Amir knows he'd beat a certain guy, why risk taking a beating (even in victory) that makes a fall fight a much tougher proposition or nixes it altogether.

I'll say it again. I am no huge fan of Khan, but I understand, I see him working.

And I will not call him a duck for it.

If Pac is nothing but heart, how do you explain HIM picking the same guy you are calling Khan a p*$$y for picking?

That has to be a blow to Khan's massive ego.Going from his dreams of ppv's to what he thought would be Showtime. To Spike..This egomaniac will end up with no coverage fighting fights like this.

lol.....my sentiments, exactly.

Khan vs CA is a nothing fight, a joke when you think about it. This fight is a lose-lose situation for Khan. I can see if Algieri is unbeaten, a true welter, etc. He was exposed bigtime by Pac that showed he is not even worthy of gatekeeper status at welterweight....wait, he isn't even a welterweight.

Khan will continue to be a laughing stock. Floyd or Manny, whoever wins or loses, will not pick him, you can bank on that.

Haymon is being stupid on this one. Khan will either take on a real opponent to get in the May/Pac sweepstakes or not. You are blowing it Al! Take a chance or tell the kid to retire.

So you guys realize that Mayweather or Manny's next opponent is a guy we're thinking gets KO'ed by Kell Brook ...

By the way, risk versus reward. A Khan/Brook fight would have been huge in England. The energy of the event would have elevated what would be a good fight to something like Froch/Groves. British boxing crowds are the best. The winner would be immediately placed as "next in line" for a big fight against all the cash cows at 147.

Instead, if Khan doesn't win spectacularly (dominant KO), he's just a guy who beat that guy Manny shouldn't have wasted his time fighting. I highly doubt he gets Manny or Floyd.
