Tom Dallas NABO Title?

Post by leejonesjnr »

I have just seen that Tom Dallas is boxing for the NABO heavyweight title on the Wlad v Jennings undercard.
I thought NABO was only for Americans?
Surely being called Dallas isn't enough?

ESPN regularly have non Americans fighting for that title on their FNF series, great opportunity for Dallas who at one point I thought was gonna go places,he wasn't getting the exposure that Price,Fury and Chisora were getting but he hit just as hard, then he fought Price earlier than Maloney would've liked and has looked a bit fragile ever since

Plus you have the NABF as well. Plus I remember Wladimir Klitschko fighting Sam Peter the first time around for the NABF Heavyweight belt in a fight that doubled as a WBO final eliminator. So its not as uncommon with the NABF and NABO.

I think you're being quite charitable there. He's got no chin.

The rules clearly state that you must either be American OR be named after an American city, so Tom's sorted! :TU:

I didn't realise Dallas was still going - I had a feeling he had given it up after his career seemed to crash after the Price fight. Good luck to him though.

It's a tough fight for Dallas his opponents been pretty active for a heavyweight.

But as mentioned it's a good opportunity and he's got to take it.

First time I've seen that website; looks pretty good. A few of the stories are out of date, so I'd shift them off the homepage...

As for Dallas's chances: very slim. But he's a big lad who can throw a punch, so you never know...

Good old WBO, what a disgrace they are. Dallas gets stopped in 2 for the Southern Area title, then he is boxing for the WBO's North American title. Up there with their recent WBO Europe title challengers.

Winner guaranteed a top 10 ranking.

Nice little earner from what I've been told! More than he got for his short notice fight for Price ( which again he apparently did pretty well out of )

This got a mention on the BBC's 6.30 South East Today news programme. They said it was a real Rocky story and I'm sure they said that he was fighting for a world title  I fear the worst for Tom these days.

So if Dallas finds a way to win this he'd be ranked highly enough for an outside shout of a world title fight. Wow.
