Birmingham May 9th
Re: Birmingham May 9th
If this happens as looks likely then it's awful behaviour. Eddie Hearn's mask will finally slip all the way off. He's lambasted Frank for ages for this kinda thing.
Re: Birmingham May 9th
Why do people keep saying Frank gets stick for this kind of thing as if Eddie doesn't? No one gets more stick on this forum than Hearn and rightly so in this case.
Re: Birmingham May 9th
Frank gets pelters for announcing fights when they aren't signed, Eddie does it and no one bats an eyelid, if Frank did this the thread would be a lot longer than it is now. It's also the hypocrisy of Hearn, slagging off Warren for doing it, then doing it himself.danamba7 wrote:Why do people keep saying Frank gets stick for this kind of thing as if Eddie doesn't? Re: Birmingham May 9th
to be fair I think people on forums like this are starting to see Hearn and Matchroom for what they are. But look on other forums (like Eastside or whatever its called now) and twitter etc theres still plenty of dimwits who think hes the saviour of Boxingdanamba7 wrote:Why do people keep saying Frank gets stick for this kind of thing as if Eddie doesn't? Re: Birmingham May 9th
Casuals love Hearn. I can see why to be fair, he talks well and can be quite funny on camera. I don't use other forums, I'm BoxRec till i die!ste1983 wrote:to be fair I think people on forums like this are starting to see Hearn and Matchroom for what they are. The back end of 2014, there were several cracking cards, Dublin being my personal favourite. However, 2015 so far has been a little bit lacking, hopefully he pulls it back the rest of the year.
I dont understand why people like Jono Carroll are on the Leeds card, when there is a big Irish community in Birmingham. If they get Carroll and Geraghty on the card then at least the could have a little crack at each other in the post fight interview.

I wish fwank was promoting this show instead of Eddie, so I could be critical
Re: Birmingham May 9th
Joshua is going to replace Gavin on the bill
Re: Birmingham May 9th
Joshua in a 1-2 round ko job instead of a decent 50/50 high level fight.....yeah some replacement that!gobbles wrote:Joshua is going to replace Gavin on the bill

To be fair, even Joshua vs binman is more exciting than Frankie Gavinste1983 wrote:Joshua in a 1-2 round ko job instead of a decent 50/50 high level fight.....yeah some replacement that!gobbles wrote:Joshua is going to replace Gavin on the bill

that's a good point at least Rendall Munroe would have a go!!!Marlo Stanfield wrote:To be fair, even Joshua vs binman is more exciting than Frankie Gavinste1983 wrote:Joshua in a 1-2 round ko job instead of a decent 50/50 high level fight.....yeah some replacement that!gobbles wrote:Joshua is going to replace Gavin on the bill
Re: Birmingham May 9th
more exciting for the casual watching Sky hoping AJ ko's him intime to switch over for MOTD yeah, but when you've paid decent money for a ticket to watch a proper competitive fight (not like theres many others likely on the undercard) its not on!Marlo Stanfield wrote:To be fair, even Joshua vs binman is more exciting than Frankie Gavinste1983 wrote:Joshua in a 1-2 round ko job instead of a decent 50/50 high level fight.....yeah some replacement that!gobbles wrote:Joshua is going to replace Gavin on the bill
Re: Birmingham May 9th
A lot of the casual fans come along for the buzz and the roar of the big crowd and when a knockout heavyweight walks out and does that they dont even know who hes fighting.I like a proper boxing match myself but all the lads have said since joshua has been rumoured there tickets have got even busier
Re: Birmingham May 9th
I understand what your saying Jon but for me it should be a balance fair enough Joshua gets the casuals excited and I'm glad the lads are doing well with the tickets but theres not one what you'd call a trade fight on it (in fact all but Kals opponenets are TBA which at 4 weeks notice makes me think they will be standard win jobs).jonp wrote:A lot of the casual fans come along for the buzz and the roar of the big crowd and when a knockout heavyweight walks out and does that they dont even know who hes fighting.I like a proper boxing match myself but all the lads have said since joshua has been rumoured there tickets have got even busier
Re: Birmingham May 9th
I dont disagree ste at all.But if the venues full one it creates a good atmosphere so maybe bring the crowd in again and two if its full matchroom hopefully go again with the bigger main event thats wanted.
Losing your main event is never good but at least wev got something that brings interest and pull in a fair casual fans to help

Like I say I'll still go along but may leave it late before getting a ticket next time, wish Sam and the other lads you've got on my best for their camps.
Think personally I just have to accept Matchroom aren't really bothered about people like me they want and make theyre money off people who go to the darts for 'the crack'.I'll stick to my small hall shows I think from now on, some decent ones coming up local to me, that Walsall one April 25th looks decent. Your lad Sullivan Mason vs Rob Hunt decent match that like the look of that.
Re: Birmingham May 9th
Yeh keep coming th holte suite marcus ffrench was involved in another cracker a few weeks ago both him and ishmael anwar on the deck before marcus lost a close pts verdict.
Sams tickets have gone nuts for this one and hes had a load of enquiries since the general public have been hearing AJ might be on

I see boxrec have added Anthony Joshua vs TBA (really busy that night TBA hes got about 6 fights), has this been confirmed by Matchroom/Hearn yet? Its their next show you'd like to see some of the opponents being made by now........but seems theyre only bothered if its a pay per view show. Sky didn't even mention it when saying Macklin was in training on Ringside, Matchrooms site still list Gavin v Van Heerden.
