Josh Warrington vs Dennis Tubieron card

Post by handsofstone »

Britains most in form fighter Warrington has his world title eliminator against Tubieron this Saturday and it should be bouncing despite not being a great card

I've never heard of Tubieron until this fight got made and looking at his record I don't recognize anyone on that either but I'm seriously doubting he's the second coming of Manny Pacquiao, in saying that Dennis has been KO'd twice in 3 defeats and has a couple of draws on his slate,a bit like an then unknown Pacquiao  I'm expecting Josh to keep doing what he's been doing pretty much since winning the Commonwealth against Mouneimne and that's get right in Tubieron's face and break him down pretty early, hopefully by the halfway mark,Tubieron has been stopped early before and even though Warrington is just finding his power I fancy him to make easy work of this

I've just noticed the Commonwealth LHW fight between Bob Ajisafe and Daniel Wanyonyi has been pulled,Ajisafe now in a 6 rounder, surely even at this late notice they could have found another opponent for Bob to fight for the belt?

Still no word if Nurse has an opponent to fight for the British LWW yet so hopefully the Martin J Ward-Maxi Hughes rematch is a good,un

I know Ajisafe turned down Hosea Burton.

Not sure what to make of Ward Hughes rematch. The first one wasn't that good but they may try something different which makes it more exciting.

What was already a poor card just got worse! I'm glad we have a couple of decent fights in the early hours to look forward to.

I've just seen Josh on Ringside and he's a grafter alright, I hope he wins a world title, he seems a genuine kid.

I didn't think too much of Ward-Hughes 1 either if I'm honest, I thought Hughes edged it,I'm not convinced Ward has the strength to hold fighters off to win at title level but if anything at least this fights evenly matched

Yeah agree it was a scrappy fight. I thought Hughes edged it with the two suspect knockdowns. Fancy Ward to win comfortable this time round.

According to boxrec schedule Tyrone Nurse now fighting 10 rounder against Liam Taylor (11-0,4KO)

Had a look at his CV and its a who's who of British journeymen

Massive credit to Taylor and his team in fairness - big step up for him with only 48hrs notice .
I've seen him a few times and he looks half decent but then again that has been against somewhat limited opposition.

It will be interesting to see how he gets on. I wouldn't be too surprised if he pulls off a shock. Either way that's a great attitude to get involved so late on. Good luck Liam !

Taylor isn't a bad replacement so late in the day and it's a step up but he could turn out to be a star, fair play to him for taking it. As for Ajasafe what a bottle job. Eddie must be making a lot of dollar on this card, nearly a sell out.

Eddie is making a mint on this. Bob isn't even from Leeds, he's from Darlington,

Yeah he is a bottle job if what I've read is true! Him vs Johnson would have been decent.

Looks like we're getting Jono Carroll first off then Nurse-Taylor then after that the Ward-Hughes rematch then Warrington..... Issac Chamberlain is the live float

He was offered Hosea Burton at short notice and turned it down.

Poor when you consider Tyrone Nurse is fighting a young unbeaten fighter at the same notice tonight.

Aye that's pretty poor, you would have thought Ajisafe would have wanted to put in a performance to get himself in the picture with Matchroom, instead of fighting a 6 rounder

What's poor about turning down a potentially dangerous opponent at short notice?

Because he was scheduled to fight for the Commonwealth so he should have been in tip top shape, the fighters he was offered are far less experienced than him

Do you think Ajisafe would have beaten Burton without much danger of losing?
