so dawson gets schwinged in 2 by prime adonis and you got dawson over him
like dawson would survive 12 against serguy.....
Re: Rank those Boxer's @ light heavyweight
Before he ruined himself against ward. He outboxed hopkins, johnson & tarver quite easily.
But maybe i will reconsider.
But i still think with his size and skills he would have given rjj hell.

Re: Rank those Boxer's @ light heavyweight
How do you think he'd deal with RJJ's speed? He sure struggled with Pascal's.

Re: Rank those Boxer's @ light heavyweight
As you requested, based on how good they were in their prime, not on resume at the weight:
1. RJJ
2. Kovalev
3. Dawson
4. Calzaghe
5. Hopkins
6. Tarver
7. DM
8. Stevenson
9. Pascal
10. Beterbiev
Beterbiev may well be better, but I can't rate him better than last at the moment because he hasn't yet proved himself against good enough opposition to really judge how good he is. I'm probably being generous with Kovalev in that regard, but he looks to be the goods and I see him stopping a prime Dawson.

good list.
i think i didnt make me fully understandable, my fault.
what i meant is these 10 boxers at prime at lh, while some boxers like joe or hopkins werent prime at lh, so its hard to argue. regardless, good list, you make sense. although i am very surprised with adonis being so low. dude he more athletic than tarver and much more powerful than dariusz, for me adonis is easily top 4. bertebiev, i can see right away that he is hardcore, pascal, tarver, even hopkins wouldnt stand a ground against this big light heavyweight with cruiserweight power.

Actually I did understand and that's how I rated them - based on how good they were at their best at light heavyweight. If lower weight class primes were also included, I would have Hopkins at #2.Chepppaaa wrote:jezzamundo wrote:As you requested, based on how good they were in their prime, not on resume at the weight:

I agree that Stevenson is more athletic than Tarver and more powerful than DM, he is naturally gifted, but I don't consider him to be a particularly skilful boxer. I think Kovalev beats him comfortably if they fight. I would pick Stevenson over the current version of Hopkins, but the Hopkins who beat Tarver, I think beats Stevenson widely on points - he's a far superior technical boxer and would make Adonis look bad. You may well be right about Beterbiev - I just don't have the confidence to properly rate him at this stage of his career.

1. Hopkins-(lost to Dawson, Cal and Kov) but beat Jones and Tarver easily and bested the Johnson in their primes
2. Tarver-(lost to Hopkins, Johnson and beat Jones twice) and beat Johnson in the rematch
3. Kovalev (if he beats Stevenson, he automatically goes to #1) beat BHop
4. Jones-lost to BHop, to Tarver twice and Johnson, also never faced Darius
5. Michaelczewski-never faced Jones and a host of others
6. Dawson-(beat BHop, Tarver, never faced Jones) lost to Pascal and was KO'd by Adonis
7. Jean Pascal-KO'd by Kov, had a Draw which should have been an L to BHop and then lost to BHop in a rematch but beat Dawson in his prime (both of them in their primes at the time)
8. Joe Calzaghe-beat an old Jones and Hopkins but never wanted a rematch with Hops outside of this he hasn't done enough where the others did
9. Adonis Stevenson-KO'd Dawson and beat a few others but nothing groundbreaking, he needs a legend on his roster and a big win over Kov in order to move up
10. Artur Beterbiev-too early for him to even be here but give him time, I think he'll move up ahead of Michaelczewski

yeah, i have to aggree, you make sense.
it is just hard for me to put prime adonis down, because his power is just rare and i just overall like the way he moves in the ring, not the most technical, but he is still slick, i doubt hopkins, even the one that beat tarver would have anything against this big bulked power puncher. i mean dawson just showed, pressure and power gives hopkins a hell of problems. adonis ones he got you puts an awful lot of pressure on you and has the power to realy make it difficult for you to get out. but it would be a super intreresting fight.

oh god, you so dumb on so many levels.
first, you didnt even read what i asked and that was to rank the prime boxers at the light heavyweight limit based on ability and not based on records.
you than you list the boxers and basicly rank them based on accomplishmant (the record) and judge by this.
and than even if you would only rank based on record, you still got it completly wrong. i mean having hopkins as 1, just shows it all. how can hopkins who just had no chance against kovalev, dawson, lost to pascal, lost to calzaghe, how can he be 1? cause he beat on grandpa old jones or a past prime tarver? hopkins had 1 great win vs tarver, but is simply not a elite light heavyweight. he cant compete with strong big light heavys who pressure him, thats it. i mean, would you have listed him around 5-10, well, than why not, somebody can make a case, but 1, completly stupid.
i mean, sorry but you a total retard when it comes down to boxing.

so, in your mind hopkins accomplished more at light heavyweight than jones did.

I ranked them based on their entire careers not only for what they did or didn't do at LHW. Too bad you're too stupid to realize that, like I said, I usually don't bother reading your garbage because you're about an nth of a step higher in intellect than Bnovelist.
