When Ali started being considered by some as the Greatest?

Post by jedijojo »

I am fully aware that a lot of you have Joe Louis as the n.1 heavy, and I can fully understand why, but this isn't the point now.

At which point of his career did Ali started being considered by some people(me included) the greatest?

The Thrilla in Manilla?

The Rumble in the Jungle?

1st Sonny Liston fight? (I seriously doubt that one)

When he started calling himself the greatest? (I defenitely don't think it's the one also)

i think he sealed the deal from the foreman fight. that was a huge fight that would impact both foreman and alis legacy. had foreman not been such an idiot he would have beat muhammad ali. but like dick sadler said "foreman had one thing in his mind, destroy ali"

I very much doubt any version of Foreman trying any battle plan would have ever beat Ali that night in Zaire.

What leads you to believe this?
