Garcia @ 147? Why not. If he can get bigger names in the ring and make some serious cash he should go for it. I don't think he'd disgrace himself and I have a sneaky feeling he will do alright

interesting thought, i actually thought LP boxed out of his skin, and i'd be surprised if he could replicate. I'd fancy DG to beat him again as LP would have to engage more to get the W.

i got the sense that LP RAN the first half of the fight and garcia knew he was up on the95gerog wrote:hurricanemitch14 wrote:I think if garcia gives lp a rematch....lp wins hands down. Kinda like judah/spinks 2.....lp has garcia figured out.

cards and was just being cautious late in the fight. he was fighting back and landing
but people on here tend to exagerate, especially when they don't like someone.
i had LP winning rounds late but needing a KO to win and he didn't come close
to getting it. in pro boxing you score rounds and add up the total at the end.
if there are no knockdowns or points taken away, you have to win 7 out of 12
rounds. it doesn't matter that you won the late rounds if you gave away all the
early rounds. if garcia was down on the cards, i doubt he would have fought the
same in the later rounds. some of the rounds i gave to LP, garcia landed the best
punches and it looked like he was happy LP was coming at him rather than RUNNING.
at the end it looked like garcia was just playing it safe and LP knew he needed a
KO to win. listen to their corners before the last rounds. i'm sure garcia can raise
his game and, if anything, looking vulnerable after a win HELPS to get big fights.
if garcia was destroying everyone you could guarantee he would not get floyd or manny.

his last 2 fights were with maidana, not a bigger name than garcia, but had belt taken from broner
canelo yes a ppv star
guerrero... nope, had the interim title under floyd's just won off berto
cotto, yeah genuine ppv fighter
ortiz, nope, but had taken berto's strap
floyd's biggest payday was against oscar and there was a mandatory rematch clause and floyd
retired rather than fight oscar again.
pac was his biggest payday for the past 5 years and he came up with lots of reasons not to take the fight.
floyd is all about his resume. he makes money whoever he fights and after pac nobody is going to
compare to that paycheck and the difference cotto could make him over garcia would be negligible,
but garcia would be a new undefeated name on his resume
his last 2 fights were against maidana made poor numbers and danny is as famous as maidana, so againt poor ppv numbers would be the endresult
Weren't those two fights 900K and 950K or close to that? Floyd's poor numbers are normally more than Pac's good numbers. You can't deny that Floyd is the draw. His fights have proven it over and over. I think he has probably averaged 1 mil ppv buys over his last 10 fights. Floyd vs Garcia would actually do better than Floyd vs Khan, if Danny remains unbeaten.
Khan has really shot himself in the foot the last year or two, and is not looked at as one of the top welters, unless you ask him. He gave Floyd a deadline back in January, then said he is moving on. In early March, he said he will announce his next fight within a week. Now what? C Algieri? He could fight and beat Brook and be right back in the driver's seat, but he will screw that up.
Re: HAHAHAHAHA @ the idea Danny Garcia @ 147
it was more of 850, 920, than what you said. and that are for floyds standards and overall standards and what showtime expected from floyd low numbers. so, sure he is the #1 draw in boxing, but even as the #1 draw in boxing he still needs big names to make big numbers.
danny and khan are both sh"%!t, they both have 0 business at 147. i mean that shows how dumb boxing fans are, how can you possibly want light welterweights like khan and danny to fight floyd or pac, when there are big strong full build welterweights like brook or thurman out there, who would make a much more interresting bout against the 2 top guys. they got the power, they are build like welterweights, they are big, one is more technical, the other more powerful, but bottom line is, they are welterweights and not soft light welters, who struggle against guys like herrera or peterson.

Re: HAHAHAHAHA @ the idea Danny Garcia @ 147
garcia is the #1 guy at 140lbs in boxrec's system and also ring magazine and
virtually every other publication ranking boxers, and has the wbc and wba titles.
he has beaten anybody who anybody thought had a chance at beating him and
there really isn't much left for him at 140. look at the guys who are ranked by
the titles at 147.
wbc has khan at #1, decaire at 2, rios at 6, avanesyan at 7, robinson at 8, gomez at 9.
wba has berto at #1, khan at 2, kratingdaeggym at 5, ali at 8.
ibf has nobody at 1 and 2 and khan at 4.
wbo has rios, zewski, kamegai, robinson, and skeete at 3, 4, 5, 6, and 7.
to say that garcia couldn't beat any of those guys who are ranked by the belts is goofy.
garcia right now is easily a top 10 welter on anyone's list with any sense at all, without
yet officially campaigning as a welter, and i'm not sure he can't beat many of those
legit top 10 welters like guerrero, porter, alexander, maidana, or brook, and he is a bigger
name and better opponent on paper than most of the names i listed in this post and of course
he demolished khan. he really only needs to fight one decent welter and stay undefeated to
win the floyd lottery.

man, who cares about rankings? danny just does not have the quality, b+ at best
Re: HAHAHAHAHA @ the idea Danny Garcia @ 147
I wouldn't put him as B+ at 140 but if he comes to 47 with the game he has now then he may be put to sleep by a great many of fighters there and then you can label him as B+.Chepppaaa wrote:man, who cares about rankings? danny just does not have the quality, b+ at best
He's won vs A lister's at LW though. Not necessarily deserving of all of them (Heredia comes to mind) but he has beaten some of the best.
