Accountability

Post by hbomb2 »

This weekend I have become very perplexed with a problem that has existed for a very long time. The problem is that officials in the sport of boxing are not held accountable when they are unethical. Both on the professional and amateur side of the sport. I am not referring to bouts that are close and could possibly go either way according to the styles that one my favor. Officials will always take the side of fellow officials that are unethical which in a way makes them unethical as well. I have come up with a solution to this issue as everyone should be accountable and responsible when they have a sense of authority. During the one minute rest periods while the athletes are refreshing, recovering and receiving instructions from the coaches while the officials are writing 10-9, 9-10 or whatever they decide to rate the round. On each card there should be an area of justification for the official to write a brief summary why the round was scored the way it was scored. I am not only complaining about the system but have a solution that may help to understand certain scoring as well as maintaining a sense od accountability for everyone involved.
