Engles Pedroza

Post by palooka »

Can anyone remember Engles Pedroza, the heavy hitting, aggressive box fighter from the late 80's - early 90's?
He was fun to watch though something of a front runner.

Yeah, I remember him alright. I think he's from Venezuela. I never actually saw him in action but I remember he got a big write-up in Ring or KO when he was on his extended knockout streak in the early part of his career. They made him out to be Terminator-like (understandably as it's always a good angle). The article certainly made an impression on me as I still remember his name.

A fella on British and Irish forum, Mimmy, is uploading loads of boxing to youtube - there might be some Pedroza on there - he's well worth watching, noxy - a real swashbuckling fighter.

Engels Pedroza was a great to watch. I have his fights against Bronco McCart, Carrasquilla, Howard 2nd. and Cecil Taylor.

Maybe Mimmy has some more from that era.
