Danny Williams gets a win

Post by Gnome »

Danny won TKO3 against Radek Varak (1-1) on Saturday in the Czech Republic, ending a four fight losing streak.

Well done, Danny - now hang the gloves up and go out with a win, old son.

Christ, did Varek get caught out by a gust of wind and hit his head off the corner post? Didn't think Danny threw back these days

Makes for uncomfortable viewing watching Danny nowadays! He doesn't want to be fighting and obviously needs the money.

God, no-one tell Hearn or he'll line Danny up with AJ.

After my poll to see whether everyone would chip in some money to stop him boxing showed a negative response, Danny must have realised he had to make more of an effort in his fights. :bag:

Could be the start of an unexpected return of form for great British heavyweight.

His opponent looked scared of his own shadow, let alone Danny's:

It shouldn't come as a surprise how uncomfortable Danny looked in there but somehow it still was. Sad to see.

Danny looked very unsteady for most of that. But could still turn it on when he realised he was in with a total novice.

Is it just me, or is Danny wearing the longest boxing shorts ever?

A fight of that magnitude would need to be Pay-Per-View, surely?

They must have found Varak in the local nursing home or the local cemetery, if Danny Williams is capable of beating him easily. :o

Definitely Anthony Joshua next for Williams! :TU:

Wasn't Danny Williams supposed to be fighting Francois Botha, or did I make that up?

No you're, there were talks about it happening (in York Hall I think? before that it was Dubai?).

That definitely shouldn't happen. Botha has fair too much for Williams. They should both retire.

What amazes me is Danny looks no heavier than his later prime.

Is that why he's still fighting? Cake money? His cakes are exceedingly expensive

Cheers for posting.

He was certainly in punch-bag mode to begin with, although I wouldn't say he ever looked in too much trouble (have seen him staggering round more).

Got the guy out of there in the end. Shame though, this win will no doubt lead to another fight.

It's odd isn't it, I thought the same, he never seems to look badly out of shape, no matter what he weighs.

I know he's fighting for the money but I can't see how he can be making a living from these fights. How much would Danny earn? Once he pays his team, flight and travelling expenses he might have a few hundred quid to himself, might be ok if he fought every week but once every few months it hardly seems worth it.

Team?

I'd guess Danny turns up with a mate.
