Hearns PPV

Obviously anyone who knows much about boxing agrees Hearns upcoming ppv is never a ppv. Defo better than Clev v Bellow but that's saying nothing. Not one fight is a PPV fight (ppv= Brook v Kahn, Haye v Fury, Froch v GGG), Hearns argument is that this fight card couldn't happen without PPV, this maybe be true so answer is simple, break it into 3 cards. The Birmingham, Hull and Newcastle cards are/were utter shite so he clearly need to be putting on better skysports shows. So instead of having one "mega" card I would rather have solid non-ppv cards instead of most non ppv being utter shite.

London Card:
Jorge Linares vs Kevin Mitchell
John Ryder vs Nick Blackwell
Dave Ryan vJohn Wayne Hibbert

Cardiff Card:
Evgeny Gradovich vs Lee Selby
Scott Cardle vs Craig Evans
Nathen Clev comeback fight

Sheffield Card:
Kell Brook vs Frankie Gavin
Anthony Joshua vs Kevin Johnson

Would anyone not prefer these 3 cards to be on skysports instead of on 1 card and be ppv? Compare the above cards to Birmingham, Hull and Newcastle cards. Obviously Hearn wouldn't do this because he likes lining his pockets by ripping off fans.

As a SKY Sports subscriber I'd love to see the card broken down over 3 solid shows, instead of watching Martin Gethin Vs. Tommy Coyle and Prizefighter events.

As a night of boxing the 30th May card would be a great event to go and see live. If it was on SKY Sports, and not PPV, it would be one of the best nights of televised British boxing in recent years.

I'm sure someone can correct me if I'm wrong, but doesn't Eddie only get between £150,000 and £200,000 from SKY per show? If that's true, it's a pretty limited budget to be working with in regards to putting on a solid top to bottom show with a world title fight as the headline. Maybe Eddie is telling the truth, the only way to put together a good show with a fighter coming from abroad to defend his world title on SKY nowadays is via PPV? I remember Eddie claiming Froch Vs. Bute wasn't bankrolled by SKY, Matchroom "rolled the dice" and made the investment to cover the purse.

I do think we need to put a bit more of the of the stick down to the pressures from Sky. Yes Eddie might have sold his soul to get full sky exposure but i'm pretty certain they are the one demanding the PPV and Hearn is clearly struggling to make super fights so a stacked card is the best he can do

The fact it is better than Clev vs Bellend doesn't excuse the fact that it's not PVP worthy.
That being said I will refrain from complaining as I am going to the show, so I'm actually looking forward to it.

Hearn was giving some example figures for Selby fighting in Cardiff the other day to illustrate.

Your spot on. Matchroom are commited to supplying SKY with 20 shows on SKY per year plus an additional 2 PPV shows. Without being able to put on a show like Froch Vs. Ward or Groves Vs. DeGale II I suppose Eddie's only real option, to honor his PPV commitment, it to put on 2 stacked cards per year.

It is a really good card and PPV aside I am looking forward to it. I'm looking forward to this card more than May/PAC to be honest (card as a whole). I do agree with the OP but. I would much rather see it broken down into 3 separate shows and spread out. We haven't got anything on Sky I don't think til May 9th and I'm not sure if there is anything scheduled after that til the next PPV! Makes you question why you pay your Sky Sports subscription!

This is my point to be fair as a stand alone show this card probably is worth paying pay per view money for but any sky subscriber has been paying for it anyway by have utter shit other cards
